    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for producing a cationic hydroxypropyl cellulose including the step of reacting a low-crystalline powdery cellulose with a cationizing agent represented by the following general formula (1) and/or a cationizing agent represented by the following general formula (2), and propylene oxide in the presence of water in an amount of from 10 to 60% by mass on the basis of the low-crystalline powdery cellulose, and a catalyst: wherein R1 to R3 are each independently a linear or branched hydrocarbon group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and X and Z are each a halogen atom and may be the same or different from each other.

    摘要: Betain group-containing derivatives of carboxymethylcellulose are disclosed. They are characterized in that all or a portion of the carboxymethyl groups are or is replaced by groups of the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or methyl group,R.sup.2 is a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group with 2 to 5 carbon atoms,R.sup.3, R.sup.4 is an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms,R.sup.5 is a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group with 1 to 10 carbon atoms,with the proviso that, on the average, at least 0.1 betaine groups are contained for each anhydroglucose unit of the polymeric molecule.Also, a method for the synthesis of these compounds and their use in cosmetic preparations, especially for the care of hair, are disclosed. In addition, novel derivatives of carboxymethylcellulose with tertiary amino groups are taught as intermediates. In these derivatives, all or a portion of these groups are or is replaced by groups of the general formula ##STR2## in which the substituents R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 have the above meaning, with the proviso that, on the average, at least 0.1 tertiary amino groups are contained per anhydroglucose unit of the polymeric molecule.

    摘要: Polysaccharide aldehydes having the formula Sacch--O--CH.sub.2 --CH.dbd.CH--CHO, ##STR1## such as starch, cellulose, and gum aldehydes, are useful for imparting wet, dry, or temporary wet strength to paper. They are prepared by a non-oxidative method which involves reacting the polysaccharide base, in the presence of alkali, with a derivatizing acetal reagent having the general structure ##STR2## and then hydrolyzing the acetal by adjusting the pH to less than 7, preferably 2-4. In the formulas, n is 1-3; R.sup.11 and R.sup.12 are independently an alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, or alkaryl group when n is 1, R.sup.11 or R.sup.12 is one of the groups when n is 2, or R.sup.11 and R.sup.12 are not present when n is 3; R.sup.13 is an alkyl group, optionally containing an ether linkage, or an aralkyl group; R.sup.14 and R.sup.15 are individually a hydrogen or a methyl group; R.sup.16, R.sup.17, and R.sup.18 are individually an alkyl group; Y- is an anion; Z is an organic group capable of reacting with the polysaccharide base to form an ether derivative and selected from the group consisting of an epoxide, ethylenically unsaturated group, halohydrin, and halogen; R.sup.19, if present, is a divalent organic group containing no reactive substituents; and A and A'0 are lower alkyls or together form at least a 5-membered cyclic acetal.

    摘要: The invention relates to a solid insoluble carrier which is activated for bonding of nucleophilic groups and to a method of its preparation. The carrier contains active groups --O.CO.O.R, where R is the residue selected from the group comprising nitrophenyl, dinitrophenyl, trichlorophenyl, pentachlorophenyl, N-succinimidyl, N-phthalimidyl, and 8-quinolinyl. Active groups are bonded to polysaccharides, phenol-formaldehyde resins, polyacrylates, or polyacrylamides. The invention further relates to a method for preparation of the polymeric carrier, which consists in treatment of polymers carrying hydroxyl functions and selected from the group comprising polysaccharides, phenol-formaldehyde resins, polyacrylates, and polyacrylamides, with esters of chloroformic acid which contain the above mentioned active groups.
