    摘要: We describe a new approach to fabricate polymeric materials with surface structures for applications as anti-reflective, anti-icing, superhydrophobic, superhydrophilic, de-wetting, and self-cleaning coatings. In some variations, a surface-textured layer comprises first microdomains and second microdomains each containing polymerized cross-linkable photomonomer, where the first microdomains have a higher average cross-link density than that of the second microdomains. The first microdomains and the second microdomains are in a peak-valley surface topology, providing surface texture with no filler particles. In some variations, a method to fabricate a surface-textured layer comprises: applying a cross-linkable photomonomer layer to a reflective substrate; exposing the photomonomer layer to a collimated light beam with no spatial variation, to initiate polymerization in first microdomains; and polymerizing other regions of the photomonomer layer to form second microdomains that are spatially separated from the first microdomains. The first microdomains have a higher average cross-link density compared to the second microdomains.

    摘要: A method for forming a multilayer coating film is provided. The method includes coating at least one object with an aqueous primer coating composition, an aqueous first colored coating composition, an aqueous second colored coating composition, and a clear coating composition, in that order. The aqueous primer coating composition contains a component (A) which contains a polyolefin resin, a component (B) which contains a polyurethane resin, a curing agent (C) and electrically conductive carbon (D). The aqueous first colored coating composition and aqueous second colored coating composition each contain a core/shell emulsion. The clear coating composition contains a hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin, a polyisocyanate and a melamine resin. The method improves the appearance, chipping resistance, adhesive properties and low temperature impact properties of a coating film.

    摘要: The present invention provides a mono coating film type waterborne coating composition comprising halogen free polyolefin resin, acryl polyol, acryl emulsion, and a solvent. According to the present invention, adhesion to a polyolefin substrate is excellent, and physical/chemical properties may be maintained with a single coating film instead of the currently used dual coating films, by a halogen free waterborne composition with physical/chemical properties similar to or more excellent than the existing oil coating or halogen-containing coating composition. Since these effects may be sufficiently obtained with a single coating film, consumption of coating may be reduced about 30˜40% compared to the existing method, and particularly, cost reduction may be expected through decrease in equipment required for dual coating film, energy for drying coating film, attractive force of coating, productivity increase, and the like.

    摘要: Directly paintable polymer compositions contain (1) a thermoplastic olefin, (2) a propylene homopolymer or propylene copolymer with ethylene or a 4-8 C alpha-olefin, grafted with an anhydride of an aliphatic .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, (3) an oxidized polyethylene wax having a melting point of less than 116.degree. C. and an acid number of less than 40, (4) a functionalized polymer that reacts with the anhydride groups of the grafted polymers, and, optionally, (5) a polyolefin rubber grafted with an anhydride of an aliphatic .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid, and (6) an ethylene polymer grafted with an anhydride of an aliphatic .alpha., .beta.-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid. The compositions are particularly useful for making injection molded parts such as automobile bumpers, and exhibit excellent paint adhesion and durability.
