摘要: A sensitivity parameter storing portion stores, as known sensitivity parameters owned by a flame sensor, reference received light quantity, reference pulse width, probability of regular discharge, and probabilities of non-regular discharge in advance. The discharge probability is calculated based on the number of drive pulses applied to the flame sensor and the number of discharges determined to have occurred in the flame sensor having received the drive pulses. The calculated discharge probability and the known sensitivity parameters are used to calculate the received light quantity per unit time received by the flame sensor.

摘要: A method for calibrating an optical arrangement in respect to a global coordinate system is provided. The optical arrangement includes a rigid carrier, an optical acquiring unit and a light emitting unit both releasably connected to the carrier. The optical acquiring unit or the light emitting unit is calibrated in respect to a reference coordinate system offline and independently from the optical arrangement. Values of a conversion matrix are determined for converting the calibration data into corresponding calibration data in respect to the global coordinate system. A calibration of the entire optical arrangement is performed once in respect to the global coordinate system. During the intended use of the optical arrangement, the calibration data acquired for the unit and/or the respective values of the conversion matrix are considered when generating control signals for the unit and/or when processing sensor signals received from the unit.

摘要: A method is provided in which with respect to an optical detection apparatus including an optical detection unit and a temperature control unit, whether optical signal detection and temperature control are performed accurately, i.e. the performance thereof, can be verified simply with high reliability. With respect to an optical detection apparatus including an optical detection unit for detecting an optical signal of a sample and a temperature control unit for controlling temperature of the sample, the optical signal detection performance and temperature control performance are verified by the following method. First, a standard sample containing a nucleic acid sequence and a strand complementary thereto that have a known optical signal intensity and Tm value is provided, the temperature of the standard sample is increased or decreased with the temperature control unit, and optical signal intensity of the standard sample is measured with the detection unit. On the other hand, the melting temperature of the standard sample is determined from a change in the optical signal intensity accompanying a change in the temperature. The measured optical signal intensity and melting temperature of the standard sample are compared to the known optical signal intensity and melting temperature of the standard sample, respectively, and thereby it is verified whether the optical signal detection performance of the detection unit and the temperature control performance of the temperature control unit are accurate.

摘要: An apparatus for detecting variations in light output of an electroluminescent (EL) device is described. The EL device includes a transparent substrate having a first edge extending in a first direction and a plurality of EL emitters disposed over the face of the substrate in the first direction, and some of the light emitted by each EL emitter travels through the substrate and out of the first edge. A light sensor physically separated from the first edge senses the light travelling out of the first edge. A controller stored first sensed light at a first time and second sensed light at a later second time and computes a variation in light output of one or more of the EL emitters in the EL device using the stored first sensed light and second sensed light.

The calibration data set includes information indicating the locations of a plurality of points on a surface of the site relative to the range sensor. The method further includes determining an expected error score of the calibration data set. Finally, the method includes determining whether to use the calibration data set to calibrate the range sensor based on the expected error score.
