    Abstract: A vehicle thermal management system includes a vehicle driving battery that generates heat during charging and discharging and a liquid heat transfer medium that transfers the heat received from the battery. The system further includes a heat receiver that causes the heat transfer medium to receive the heat and a refrigerant heat exchanger that causes the heat transfer medium to release the heat. The heat transfer medium includes a liquid base material including water and an orthosilicic acid ester compatible with the liquid base material and does not include an ionic rust inhibitor. The orthosilicic acid ester is present, as a concentration of silicon, relative to a total mass of the heat transfer medium within a range between 1 mass ppm, inclusive, and 2000 mass ppm, inclusive or within a range between 2000 mass ppm, non-inclusive, and 10000 mass ppm, inclusive.

    Abstract: A heat storage system includes an energy conversion portion, and a heat storage portion having a heat storage material. The energy conversion portion converts a form of an energy source into another form, and the energy conversion portion dissipates heat through a medium at the same time as the energy conversion. The heat storage material exchanges heat with the medium. The heat storage material stores heat from the medium in a heat storage mode, and the heat storage material dissipates the stored heat to a heating target. The heat storage material exhibits a first solid phase when a temperature of the heat storage material is higher than a predetermined temperature, and the heat storage material exhibits a second solid phase when the temperature of the heat storage material is at or lower than the predetermined temperature.

    Abstract: A thermal management system includes refrigeration cycle equipment and a heating medium circuit. The heating medium circuit includes a high-temperature-side circuit connecting with the heating medium channel of the high-temperature-side water-refrigerant heat exchange portion, a low-temperature-side circuit connecting with a heating medium channel of a low-temperature-side water-refrigerant heat exchange portion, and a heat transfer portion connecting the high-temperature-side circuit and the low-temperature-side circuit. The low-temperature-side circuit includes a first heat exchange portion, a second heat exchange portion, a heating medium bypass channel, and a low-temperature-side circuit switching portion. While the heat transfer portion is transferring heat, the low-temperature-side circuit switching portion switches a circuit configuration of the low-temperature-side circuit to a circuit configuration that circulates the heating medium between the first heat exchange portion and the heating medium bypass channel.

    Abstract: During a normal operation, a refrigeration cycle device is switched to a refrigerant circuit in which heat contained in a high-pressure refrigerant flowing out of an interior radiator is stored in a heat storage member. When frost is formed on an evaporator, the refrigeration cycle device is switched to another refrigerant circuit in which the exterior heat exchanger is heated and defrosted using heat stored in the heat storage member as a heat source. The heat storage member uses a material formed by adding W (tungsten) as an additive to VO2 (vanadium dioxide) which is a transition metal oxide having a property of a phase transition between a metal and an insulator. The heat storage member effectively stores or dissipates heat depending on a temperature zone of the refrigerant, thereby suppressing an increase in energy consumption of a compressor.
