Abstract: A tissue repair device and a method for using the same are provided. The tissue repair device includes a body portion and at least one wire. The body portion includes an inner layer and an outer layer. The inner layer is close to a tissue, wherein the inner layer includes a hydrophilic structure, and the outer layer includes a hydrophobic structure. The wire is connected to the body portion to fix the body portion to the tissue.

Abstract: According to embodiments, a membrane with a flat or curved surface is provided for protection of intraocular tissues. The membrane can be used to cover the cornea for protecting corneal endothelial cells, to cover the anterior and posterior surface of the iris, or to cover the surface of the posterior capsule for separating the intraocular tissues. The membrane has a layered structure, which is composed of a collagen and a hydrophilic biopolymer or an organic polymer material. In particular, the membrane has high transparency and high water retention in a wet state.

Abstract: An artificial intervertebral disc is configured to be inserted between adjacent human vertebrae. The artificial intervertebral disc includes a first connection block, a joint block and a second connection block. The joint block has a convex surface and a rear surface. The rear surface of the joint block is stacked on the first connection block. The second connection block is slidably stacked on the convex surface of the joint block, such that the second connection block is movable relative to the first connection block. In addition, the convex surface is a curved surface, and the convex surface is arranged off-axis with respect to the rear surface.

Abstract: A method of preparing fiber includes blending bio-compatible ceramic powder and first polyester to form a ceramic powder composition, wherein the bio-compatible ceramic powder and the first polyester have a weight ratio of 10:90 to 60:40. The method further includes blending the ceramic powder composition and second polyester to form a composite material, wherein the ceramic powder composition and the second polyester have a weight ratio of 0.4:99.6 to 40:60. The method also spins the composite material to form a fiber. The first polyester has an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of 0.35 dL/g to 0.55 dL/g, and the second polyester has an intrinsic viscosity (IV) of 0.6 dL/g to 0.8 g/dL. The fiber can be woven to form an artificial ligament/tendon.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a spinal intervertebral body fusion device including an adjustable spacer, a first and second pushing piece, and an operative piece. The adjustable spacer includes a first and second supporting plate. The first supporting plate portion is movably installed on the second supporting plate portion. The first and second supporting plate portions form a first and second opening respectively located at two opposite sides of the adjustable spacer. The first pushing piece located at the first opening and is partially clamped by the first and second supporting plate portions. The second pushing piece located at the second opening is partially clamped by the first and second supporting plate portions. The operative piece is movably disposed through the second pushing piece and screwed to the first pushing piece. The operative piece has an annular slot, and the second pushing piece is partially located in the annular slot.
