Abstract: A multifunctional display apparatus or electronic device is provided. An electronic device that can switch between VR display and AR display is provided. The housing has a function of being transformed into a first mode that closes to block view and a second mode that opens to allow a front side to be viewed. The electronic device has a function of providing a first image displayed on the first display apparatus through the lens and the screen in the first mode, and a function of providing a second image projected to the screen from the second display apparatus in the second mode.

Abstract: An electronic device capable of detecting a user's body movements is to be provided. The electronic device is display equipment worn in front of the user's eye and capable of detecting the blinking action. The electronic device includes a display apparatus and a light source in a housing, and the display apparatus includes a light-emitting device and a light-receiving device in a display portion. Light emitted by the light source is incident on the user's eye and the vicinity thereof through a mirror and reflected, and the reflected light is detected by the light-receiving device. The amount of light reflected by the eyelid and that by the eyeball are different from each other, which enables the blinking action to be detected. The detection of the blinking action enables the user's fatigue state to be estimated.

The display device includes a transistor, a light-emitting element, a coloring layer, a phosphor layer, a first electrode, and a second electrode. The light-emitting element is electrically connected to the first electrode and the second electrode, the first electrode is electrically connected to the transistor, and the second electrode is positioned on the same plane as the first electrode. The coloring layer is positioned over the light-emitting element, the phosphor layer is positioned between the light-emitting element and the coloring layer, and the phosphor layer, the light-emitting element, and the coloring layer include a region in which they overlap with one another. The light-emitting element includes a light-emitting diode chip, and the phosphor layer has a function of emitting light of a complementary color of an emission color of the light-emitting element.

Abstract: A semiconductor device having favorable display quality is provided. The semiconductor device is provided with a display portion, a line-of-sight sensor portion, a control portion, and an arithmetic portion. The line-of-sight sensor portion has a function of obtaining first information showing a direction of a user's line of sight. The arithmetic portion has a function of determining a first region including a gaze point of the user on the display portion with use of the first information and a function of increasing a definition of an image displayed on the first region. Light emitted from the display portion may be used to obtain the first information showing the direction of the line of sight.

Abstract: A power storage device that can be discharged safely and easily is provided. The power storage device includes a secondary battery covered with an exterior body, a radiator plate in contact with a surface of the exterior body, and a projection. The projection has conductivity and is held over the exterior body in the normal condition. When the projection penetrates the exterior body to be inserted into the secondary battery, the secondary battery can be short-circuited and discharged. Heat can be efficiently released from the projection to the radiator plate. Thus, the secondary battery can be discharged safely at high speed without thermal runaway.

Abstract: An electronic device that can easily increase the viewing angle and has a reduced screen-door effect is provided. In the electronic device, images displayed on a display panel with a low pixel density and a display panel with a high pixel density are synthesized to be seen. The electronic device includes a first display panel that has a relatively large screen size and a low pixel density, and a second display panel and a third display panel each of which has a relatively small screen size and a high pixel density. The electronic device is configured such that visual information enters the central field of view from the second display panel or the third display panel and visual information enters the peripheral field of view from the first display panel. Such a configuration can easily increase the viewing angle and reduce the screen-door effect.

Abstract: An optical device with less influence of stray light is provided. The optical device is thin and includes a half mirror, a first lens, a retardation plate, a reflective polarizing plate, and a second lens. In the optical device, a geometric phase lens which has negative and positive refractive power is used as the first lens, whereby images can be focused after magnified optically. Thus, the optical device can have a wide viewing angle. In the case where stray light occurs due to birefringence of an optical material, negative refractive power of the first lens can prevent the stray light from being focused on the eye direction. Accordingly, image degradation recognized due to stray light can be prevented.
