Abstract: Configuration, in which images output to a display unit are switched and displayed in accordance with the behavior of a driver, such as movements of the head of the driver, is achieved. Driver information indicating the behavior of the driver of a moving apparatus and images captured by a plurality of cameras that images a situation around the moving apparatus from different viewpoints are input. The images output to the display unit are switched in accordance with the driver information. The plurality of cameras is, for example, a plurality of rear cameras installed in the rear of the moving apparatus. For example, a direction of the face or line-of-sight of the driver is detected. An image in a direction corresponding to the detected direction of the face or line-of-sight of the driver is selected as an output image, and displayed on the display unit. Alternatively, an image in a direction indicated by a gesture of the driver is selected, and displayed on the display unit.

Abstract: Sensors in a vehicle detect execution of a sign language symbol. The sign language symbol invokes a vehicle interface function. In some embodiments, the sign language symbol is an ASL sign. Sensors include three-dimensional optical, ultrasonic, or other sensors. The locations of targets (fingertips, knuckles, palm, etc.) are detected in the individual outputs of the sensors. The locations of targets determined from the outputs of multiple sensors may be associated with one another and filtered, such as using an RBMCDA algorithm and Kalman filtering. The system may be calibrated to detect each symbol by measuring the target locations with the user executing the each symbol.

Abstract: Embodiments are described of an apparatus including a computer to which are coupled a user identification device to identify an authorized user, a transceiver to receive and transmit user data between the computer and one or more user data sources associated with the authorized user, a navigation system, and one or more displays coupled to the computer. The computer constructs a timeline for the authorized user based on the user data over a specified time interval, wherein the timeline displays every user event that falls within the specified time interval, and simultaneously display the timeline and a map on one of the one or more displays, wherein the user's current position and the position of at least one user event from the timeline are identified on the map. Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed for systems for a vehicle. An example system for a vehicle includes a head-up display and a circuit, which is connected to the head-up display, wherein the head-up display is configured to project an image onto a front windshield of the vehicle or onto a separate combiner, wherein the circuit is configured to output image data to the head-up display, whereby the image data have a set of objects which include messages for the user, to determine a user's workload level, based on a set of driving conditions, to switch between at least one first workload mode and a second workload mode based on the level, whereby the second workload mode is assigned a higher level than the first workload mode, and in the second workload mode to reduce at least one object, which is output in the first workload mode.

Abstract: A method for providing an operating device in a vehicle, wherein a control device generates graphics data which control a display surface so that a graphics object relating to an executed application is displayed, and the geometric structure of an actuating object is detected in a detection space in front of the display surface and, depending upon the detected structure, a control signal for controlling the executed application is generated. A control signal for stopping the executed application is generated by the control system if a geometric structure of the actuating object has been detected in the detection space, wherein a substantially planar surface of the actuating object which is oriented substantially parallel to the display surface is spaced apart from the display surface. Also disclosed is a corresponding operating device for carrying out the method and a vehicle having such an operating device.
