Abstract:
A belt for an elevator system includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a length of the belt, a jacket material at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension members, and a primary overlay layer applied to one or more of the plurality of tension members or at least a portion of the jacket material. An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car movable therein, and a belt operably connected to the elevator car to suspend and/or drive the elevator car along the hoistway. The belt includes a plurality of tension members arranged along a belt width and extending longitudinally along a belt length, a jacket material at least partially encapsulating the plurality of tension members, and a primary overlay layer applied to one or more of the plurality of tension members or at least a portion of the jacket material.
Abstract:
A rope including polyethylene elongate elements oriented in the length direction of the rope, where for at least part of the elongate elements the distance of the element to a central longitudinal rope axis varies over the length of the rope. The polyethylene elongate elements including tapes of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, the tapes having a width to thickness ratio of at least 10 and a polymer solvent content below 0.05 wt. %. The distance of at least part of the elements to the central longitudinal rope axis varies over the length of the rope between a longitudinal line which is at most 30% from the outside of the rope and a longitudinal line which is at most 30% from the central longitudinal axis of the rope. Such a rope shows a high strength-strength ratio (the ratio between the strength under use conditions and the fresh strength of the rope).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wrap assembly for wrapping longitudinally extended articles, such as cable assemblies. The wrapping uses a textile sheath and self-adhering adhesive tape. The sheath provides edged on each narrow side. The self-adhesive tape is narrow compared to the width of the covering. The adhesive tape is adhered to the sheath in such a manner that the adhesive tape extends over one of the longitudinal edges of the sheath.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a metal cable usable for reinforcing a carcass reinforcement for a tire, such as a heavy-vehicle tire, to a composite fabric usable as a ply for such a carcass reinforcement, to a carcass reinforcement comprising this fabric and to a tire incorporating this carcass reinforcement. A metal cable according to the invention comprises a textile wrap, and is such that said wrap is formed of an aromatic thermotropic polyester or polyester amide. A composite fabric according to the invention is such that it comprises a rubber composition which is reinforced by said cables. A tire according to the invention has its carcass reinforcement comprising said composite fabric.
Abstract:
A cable protecting tube having high transparency and allowing the filling condition of mortar therein to be visually observed from the outside as well as exhibiting high pressure resistance is provided. A cable protecting tube for accommodating a cable and for filling with mortar includes a protecting tube (1) having smooth inner and outer surfaces formed from an ionomer resin excellent in transparency, and a spiral or mesh-shaped reinforcing member (2) for reinforcing the protecting tube. The reinforcing member (2) may be buried in the protecting tube (1). The protecting tube (1) is not limited to the smooth-walled tube but may be a spirally corrugated tube.
Abstract:
A composite rope obtained by process comprising, impregnating a multifilament with epoxy resin and half-setting the resin to form a prepreg, twisting the plural prepregs together to form a primarily-twisted product, and wrapping the primarily-twisted product with a yarn or a porous tape. When it is wound round the primarily-twisted product, the yarn is closely wound at an angle substantially perpendicular to an axis of the primarily-twisted product. The method further comprises twisting the plural primarily-twisted products thus wrapped to form a secondarily-twisted product and then heating the secondarily-twisted product to completely set the resin impregnated.
Abstract:
A suspension cable is encased in a metal pipe formed from a metal strip wound in a series of adjacent helical windings on the cable. The longitudinal edges of adjacent windings are connected by a continuous tight fold.
Abstract:
A method for fabricating a steel wire cable having a Zn—Al alloy plating, the method including: arranging steel wires according to an arrangement rule at a cross section of the steel wire cable; controlling a length of the overall cable by a length of a central standard wire; twisting a bunch of the steel wires comprising a zinc-aluminum alloy plating with a torsion angle of between 2° and 4°; wrapping the steel wire bunch with a polyester wrapping bandage and covering a resulting product with a double-layered protective polyethylene sheath; anchoring the two ends of the steel wire cable by anchors using fillers; and coiling the finished-product of the steel wire cables.
Abstract:
A method for stranding aramid yarn around an endless core includes a stranding step that involves a stranding apparatus having at least one yarn bobbin. The bobbin revolves around its own axis and the bobbin revolves around the core, wherein the yarn unwinds from the bobbin and winds around the core. The yarn is a continuous aramid yarn provided with 0.05 to 0.95 wt %, based on the weight of the aramid, of a finish including an organophosphorus compound. The organophosphorus compound is a compound of the formula X1X2X3P═O. X1, X2, and X3 are independently selected from Y1-, Y1-O—, and M-O. Y1 is a branched or straight-chain C1-C20 alkyl, aryl or alkenyl. M is selected from Li, Na, K, or ammonium. At least one of X1, X2, or X3 is selected from Y1- or Y1-O—.
