摘要: A method and apparatus for filtering an electromyogram (EMG) signal from a raw signal which includes a contribution from an electrocardiogram (EKG) signal is disclosed. The method includes the steps of estimating an attribute (such as a Fourier transform) of both the EMG contribution to the raw signal and the EKG contribution to the raw signal and, dependent on both frequency spectrums, determining an EMG window in a frequency range and obtaining the EMG signal by passing it through a filter defined by the frequency range. The method is particularly used when monitoring a multi-channel electrical recording from a plurality of electrodes attached to a patient's diaphragm.

摘要: A ventilator device and system comprising a rotating compressor, preferably a drag compressor, which, at the beginning of each inspiratory ventilation phase, is accelerated to a sufficient speed to deliver the desired inspiratory gas flow, and is subsequently stopped or decelerated to a basal flow level to permit the expiratory ventilation phase to occur. The ventilator device is small and light weight enough to be utilized in portable applications. The ventilator device is power efficient enough to operate for extended periods of time on internal or external batteries. Also provided is an oxygen blending apparatus which utilizes solenoid valves having specific orifice sizes for blending desired amounts of oxygen into the inspiratory gas flow. Also provided is an exhalation valve having an exhalation flow transducer which incorporates a radio frequency data base to provide an attendant controller with specific calibration information for the exhalation flow transducer.

The valve sealing surface (50) of the valve seat (5) is spherical in shape.

摘要: The force limited valve actuator operates on light-duty valves. The actuator includes signal controlled motor which drives a two piece threaded screw-nut drive. The nut connected to the motor and the screw connected to the valve stem. The nut has a spring loaded actuation surface/plate. The nut body has a positional indicator stem used as a valve-motor control. Operationally, the screw-nut-set moves between first, second and third positions. First: actuation plate at neutral and valve-stem at valve OPEN stop (example). Second: screw protrudes outboard of nut and valve-stem at CLOSE stop and actuation plate at neutral. Third: plate moves away from valve-stem (beyond neutral) while stem at CLOSE which third movement is a force sensor. First, second and third positions are all one way screw rotation. Force limited on stem by damper-shock absorber action. The positional indicator effects ON-OFF valve control.

摘要: An apparatus for depositing a liquid, semi-liquid or semi-solid food product. The apparatus comprises a fixed volume chamber for receiving the food product under a positive pressure, the chamber being defined by chamber walls, one of the chamber walls being provided with an outlet orifice for depositing the food product, the outlet orifice being provided with a first sealing surface. The apparatus also comprises a valve spindle arranged for reciprocating movement within the chamber, the length direction of the valve spindle extending substantially perpendicular to the chamber wall in which the outlet orifice is provided, a first end of the valve spindle being provided with a second sealing surface. The second sealing surface of the valve spindle is arranged for abutting the first sealing surface of the outlet orifice to thereby close the outlet orifice.
