摘要: A steel piston designed to improve thermal efficiency, fuel consumption, and performance of an engine is provided. The piston includes a steel body portion and a thermal barrier layer applied to an upper combustion surface and/or a ring belt to reduce the amount of heat transferred from a combustion chamber to the body portion. The thermal barrier layer has a thermal conductivity which is lower than a thermal conductivity of the steel body portion. The thermal barrier layer typically includes a ceramic material, for example ceria, ceria stabilized zirconia, and/or a mixture of ceria stabilized zirconia and yttria stabilized zirconia in an amount of 90 to 100 wt. %, based on the total weight of the ceramic material. The thermal barrier layer can also have a gradient structure which gradually transitions from 100 wt. % of a metal bond material to 100 wt. % of the ceramic material.

摘要: The present invention provides a zirconia pre-sintered body having excellent machinability and having a low probability of pillar fracture or chipping during milling. A method of production of such a zirconia pre-sintered body is also provided. The present invention relates to a zirconia pre-sintered body comprising zirconia, and a stabilizer capable of reducing a phase transformation of zirconia, the content of the stabilizer being 3 to 8 mol % relative to the total mole of the zirconia and the stabilizer, at least a part of the stabilizer being not dissolved in zirconia as a solid solution, and the zirconia pre-sintered body having a Vickers hardness of 65 to 135 HV 5/30 as measured in compliance with JIS Z 2244:2009.

A spark plasma sintering (SPS) apparatus comprising the die and two of the pistons, defining a sintering, densification or assembly chamber capable of receiving a powder to be sintered, a part to be densified, or parts to be assembled. A method of sintering a powder, densifying a part, or assembling two parts by means of a method of spark plasma sintering (SPS) in an oxidising atmosphere, using the spark plasma sintering (SPS) apparatus.

摘要: A method of manufacturing ceramic tape includes a step of directing a tape of partially-sintered ceramic into a furnace. The tape is partially-sintered such that grains of the ceramic are fused to one another yet the tape still includes at least 10% porosity by volume, where the porosity refers to volume of the tape unoccupied by the ceramic. The method further includes steps of conveying the tape through the furnace and further sintering the tape as the tape is conveyed through the furnace. The porosity of the tape decreases during the further sintering step.

摘要: A process of forming a sintered article includes heating a green portion of a tape of polycrystalline ceramic and/or minerals in organic binder at a binder removal zone to a temperature sufficient to pyrolyze the binder; horizontally conveying the portion of tape with organic binder removed from the binder removal zone to a sintering zone; and sintering polycrystalline ceramic and/or minerals of the portion of tape at the sintering zone, wherein the tape simultaneously extends through the removal and sintering zones.

摘要: A zirconia molded body and a dental mill blank may decrease of the translucency of a zirconia sintered body upon firing even when the cooling solvent used for wet processing of the zirconia molded body or dental mill blank by a dental CAD/CAM system is contaminated. This can allow more convenient fabrication of a zirconia sintered body. A zirconia molded body may include zirconia; a stabilizer capable of inhibiting a phase transformation of zirconia; and a binder, and having an open porosity of 25% or less.

摘要: In example implementations, a method for extracting layers of build material into a carrier. The method includes providing a layer of build material onto a bed. Portions of the layer of build material on the bed are digitally printed with a liquid functional material (LFM). The method repeats providing the layer of build material and digitally printing without applying energy to the LFM to define a structure in layers of build material on the bed. The layers of build material are extracted into a carrier and the carrier is removed.
