摘要: A sputter target is made of a Ti—Al alloy containing Al in the range of 1 to 30 atm %. In the Ti—Al alloy constituting the sputter target, Al exists in at least one of a solid solution state in Ti and a state in which Al forms an intermetallic compound with Ti, and variation in Al content in the entire target is limited within 10%. Furthermore, an average crystal grain diameter of the Ti—Al alloy is 500 &mgr;m or less, and variation in crystal grain diameter in the entire target is limited within 30%. A Ti—Al—N film as a barrier film is formed by using the sputter target made of the Ti—Al alloy as described above. An electronic component includes a barrier film formed on a semiconductor substrate.

摘要: A disk apparatus which can prevent a disk from being damaged when a shock is applied to the disk apparatus is provided. A disk is rotatably supported in a space formed between a tray and a cover when the disk is loaded in the disk apparatus. A contacting member is provided in the space so that the contacting member contacts an outermost annular area of a surface of the disk when the disk is warped. The outermost annular area is a non-recordable area which is adjacent to a rim of the disk.

摘要: To produce a substrate for information recording media, a substrate consisting essentially of glass for information recording media is subjected to treatment for retarding the extract of the glass component from the substrate by contacting it with a molten salt that contains at least one of hydrogensulfates and pyrosulfates, while being subjected to additional treatment for retarding the crystallization of the molten salt. In the method, preferably, the glass component to be prevented from being extracted from the substrate is a group of alkali ions, and the treatment for retarding the crystallization of the molten salt is water addition treatment of any one of treatment of supplying water to the molten salt or treatment of compensating for water being away from the molten salt.

摘要: A lens barrel includes fixed tubes each arranged to hold an optical unit having an optical axis, a rotating tube arranged to rotate around the optical axis with respect to the fixed tubes, wherein the rotating tube is provided, at front and rear portions thereof as viewed along the optical axis, respectively with end surfaces of ring shape having a center thereof on the optical axis, and each of the fixed tubes is provided with an end surface opposite to the associated end surface of the rotating tube, and sheet members of ring shape having a center thereof on the optical axis, each of the sheet members being disposed on a space formed by each end surface of the rotating tube and the associated end surface of the fixed tubes, so that the torque of a rotating operation on the rotating tube is lessened and, yet, the lens barrel excels in dust-proof and drip-proof.
