Abstract: Embodiments are directed to promptly reestablishing communication between nodes in a dynamic computer network and dynamically maintaining an address list in an unstable network. A computer system sends a message to other message queuing nodes in a network, where each node in the message queuing network includes a corresponding persistent unique global identifier. The computer system maintains a list of unique global identifiers and the current network addresses of those network nodes from which the message queuing node has received a message or to which the message queuing node has sent a message. The computer system goes offline for a period of time and upon coming back online, sends an announcement message to each node maintained in the list indicating that the message queuing node is ready for communication in the message queuing network, where each message includes the destination node's globally unique identifier and the node's current network address.

Abstract: A model for automated item generator of the graphic intelligence test solves the tremendous time consuming problem for manually devising the graph intelligence item. At the same time, the invention can automated generate more complicated, more transformations and better layout graph for intelligence test, which are hard to predict. The model utilizes the 12 branch tree as the expressing pattern of matrix graph item, and 8 branch trees as the expressing pattern of series graph item. The automated generating item methods have been presented, and the difficulty of the item has also been validated with the similarity of the optional answers and difficulties of the rules and complexity of the sub-graph. The best feature of the model is that a big amount of the graph item for intelligence test can be generated at one time by the computer, instead of manually devising the matrix graph or series graph for intelligence test. With the model, the online intelligence test platform can update the test database automatically, thus the intelligence and the ability of the examinee can be evaluated breaking through the barrier of the language, culture and education background.

Abstract: A method for determining a position of a selected area of a sheet of material relative to a reference plane includes launching a first incident light beam at the selected area of the sheet of material such that the first incident light beam strikes the selected area at a first position and a first angle, thereby producing a first reflected light beam. A second incident light beam is launched at the selected area of the sheet of material such that the second incident light beam strikes the selected area at a second position and a second angle, thereby producing a second reflected light beam. The second position and second angle are different from the first position and first angle, respectively. The first reflected light beam and the second reflected light beam are intercepted at the reference plane. Information related to positions at which the reflected light beams were intercepted and angles at which the incident light beams were launched were received and correlated to the position of the selected area relative to the reference plane.

Abstract: The invention provides a method and a corresponding system (12, 32) for controlling the working status of a first device (10, 30). The first device is connected with a second device (11, 31). The method comprises: a first analyzing step (S20) for analyzing whether the second device is using the first data provided by the first device; a step (S21) for controlling, based on the result of the first analyzing step, the working status of the first device. According to embodiments of the present invention, the working status of the first device can be changed when the second device temporarily does not use the first data provided by the first device, thereby saving energy, economizing on hardware resources and so on.
