    Abstract: Liquid drug delivery device includes a housing with a syringe port for sealingly receiving a syringe having a syringe tip ending at a widened distal tip, a vial adapter port with a vial adapter for snap fit receiving a vial, and a drug administration port for administering a liquid drug. The vial adapter is intended to be rotationally detached after a mixing procedure for discarding together with a spent vial. The syringe port additionally includes a single use locking mechanism for securing the syringe to preclude inadvertent syringe detachment under normal use including agitation for reconstitution purposes. The drug administration port has a distal tip preferably similar to a syringe's widened distal tip for the same purpose of preventing conventional needles with a female Luer connector being slidingly mounted thereon.

    Abstract: Automatic liquid drug preparation apparatus for preparing a liquid drug assemblage with a predetermined dosage of liquid drug. The liquid drug assemblage is prepared from a preparatory assemblage including a fluid control device having a body member with a syringe port, a vial adapter, and an administration port, a vial pre-filled with powder or liquid medicament, and a syringe pre-filled with diluent for mixing with the medicament. The automatic liquid drug preparation apparatus includes a housing, a cradle for receiving the preparatory assemblage, and a controller for controlling a motorized syringe drive unit for selectively transferring liquid contents between the syringe and the vial, a motorized cradle drive unit for selectively rotating the cradle relative to the housing, and a motorized vial adapter release unit for selectively detaching the vial adapter with its attached spent vial from the body member to form the liquid drug assemblage.

    Abstract: A fluid ducting assembly enables flow communication between a syringe and one of a vessel and a dispenser for dispensing a fluid contained therein. The fluid ducting assembly includes a base having first, second, and third members for connection to and providing flow communication with the syringe, the vessel and the dispenser, respectively. The fluid ducting assembly further includes a flow controller within the base enabling a flow path between the first and second members or between the first and third members. The flow controller has a first operative position in which the flow path between the first and second members is enabled or a second operative position in which the flow path between the first and third members is enabled. The flow controller is readily switchable from its first to its second operative position but not readily switchable from its second to its first operative position.

    Abstract: Fluid transfer devices for use with syringes and cartridges having an open ended tube hermetically sealed by a rubber stopper and a slidable seal at opposite leading and trailing ends, respectively. The fluid transfer devices include a syringe port and a cartridge port for correspondingly slidingly receiving a syringe and a cartridge. The cartridge port preferably includes a primary puncturing member and a secondary puncturing member for correspondingly puncturing a cartridge's rubber stopper offset from its center for fluid transfer purposes between a syringe and a cartridge, and venting purposes. The fluid transfer devices are preferably used with stopping devices for preventing ejection of a cartridge's seal during a filling procedure.

    Abstract: A needleless additive control valve for use with a fluid container containing an infusion liquid and having an intravenous (IV) port for administrating the infusion liquid, and an additive transfer device containing a liquid additive and having a male connector for administrating the liquid additive.     Abstract: A fluid ducting assembly for enabling flow communication between a syringe and either one of a vessel and a dispenser for dispensing a fluid contained, a priori in the syringe or in the vessel.
