摘要: One subject of the present invention is a dressing essentially consisting of: an absorbent nonwoven compress formed from a mixture: of bicomponent thermal bonding non-absorbent fibers, of core-shell type, said core being made of polyester (polyethylene terephthalate, PET) and the shell being made of polyethylene; of bicomponent superabsorbent fibers of core-shell type with a core made of polyacrylonitrile and a shell made of polyacrylate; and a net fabric made from a hydrocolloid elastomer mass partially covering the face of the compress intended to come into contact with the wound. This product is especially intended to promote the healing of chronic wounds by optimizing the debridement.

摘要: Wound dressings and methods of manufacturing wound dressings are provided. The wound dressings include portions that are converted from a moisture vapor permeable material to a material having reduced moisture vapor permeability. The conversion may be accomplished in a variety of ways. In some embodiments, a solvent is used to dissolve a porous material to thereby form a non-porous film. In other embodiments, heat is applied to melt a porous material to thereby form a non-porous film. The heat may be applied using a heated gas or a heating element to directly or indirectly heat the material.

摘要: The present invention relates to a wound dressing, comprising a carrier layer and an absorbing cushion. The absorbing cushion comprises at least two different absorbing layers that are separated by a third layer. The third layer comprises at least one antimicrobially acting agent that exhibits the effect thereof within the absorbing cushion.

摘要: A patient-friendly medical device is provided for removal of excess fluids from body tissue and is particularly useful to treat soft tissue inflammation, damage, edema and/or lymphedema. The comfortable medical device comprises a composite multilayered assembly that provides a gradient pressure compression device to compress body tissue of a patient in a controlled and graduated manner. The composite multilayered assembly can have an inner and/or outer layer to enhance uniform distribution of compression about the affected portion of the patient and can have flexible intermediate layers with elastomeric components such as foamed chips, foamed pieces, and/or chopped foam that can have a different density and/or size and/or shape to form channels (canals) therebetween to enhance flow of excess fluids from the body tissue of the patient. The channels or canals can create zones of gradient pressure to help move excess fluid from the tissue of the affected portion of the body of the patient.

摘要: A skin dressing, particularly a wound dressing, comprises oxidoreductase enzyme and, optionally, peroxidase enzyme, wherein the enzyme(s) are present in hydrated condition, e.g. being present in one or more hydrated hydrogels. The dressing is used by being located on the skin of a human or animal e.g. over a wound. The oxidoreductase enzyme catalyses a reaction that produces hydrogen peroxide from an appropriate substrate, the substrate either being naturally present in body fluids and/or being supplied separately and/or being incorporated into the dressing. The currently preferred oxidoreductase enzyme is glucose oxidase. The catalyses reaction of β-D-glucose substrate to give hydrogen peroxide and gluconic acid. A mixture of oxidoreductase enzyme can undergo reaction (optionally catalysed by the peroxidase enzyme) to produce a variety of species including reactive oxygen intermediates that have antimicrobial properties and that can therefore assist in promoting wound healing.
