Abstract:
A wheel rim, in particular for an all-terrain vehicle or a vehicle that is to run at low pressure, the rim including an anti-abrasion coating in at least one sensitive zone situated between the rim and the beads of a tire that is to be mounted on the rim, wherein the coating presents at least one sealing lip suitable for opposing penetration of abrasion particles between the rim and the beads of the tire.
Abstract:
A laterally installing wheel including a rim in which a rim main portion and a side ring are disconnectably coupled to each other at a coupling portion of the rim main portion and the side ring, wherein the coupling portion is constructed such that a gap between the rim main portion and the side ring is inconspicuous from outside in the axial direction of the wheel. The coupling portion is provided at an axially inner portion of the rim. In a case where the coupling portion is provided at an axially outer portion of the rim, the coupling portion is located at an inconspicuous portion.
Abstract:
A bicycle rim is provided with an annular metallic rim member and at least one reinforcing resin material. The annular metallic rim member includes an annular tire attachment portion adapted to have a tire mounted thereon, a first annular side wall portion, a second annular side wall portion and an inner annular wall portion connecting the first and second annular side wall portions with a plurality of spoke attachment openings formed in the inner annular wall portion. The at least one reinforcing resin material is attached to the annular metallic rim member such that the reinforcing resin material continuously extends from the first annular side wall portion across the inner annular wall portion to the second annular side wall portions to overlie exterior surface areas of the first and second annular side wall portions and exterior surface areas of the inner annular wall portion around the spoke attachment openings.
Abstract:
A bicycle rim and a method for manufacturing a bicycle rim which bicycle rim includes a rim body which includes at least a rim base and brake sidewalls. The rim body consists at least in part of a fibrous composite material and the brake sidewalls include a brake layer of a friction-enhancing material.
Abstract:
A rim for a bicycle has a lower bridge with infra-spoke zones of lower thickness than the thickness of the spoke attachment zones. The increase in thickness from the infra-spoke zones to the spoke attachment zones and the reduction in thickness between the spoke attachment zones and the infra-spoke zones have a sharp corner.
Abstract:
A wheel rim includes an outer rim member having a serrated surface formed in each of two side portions and defined by one or more recesses and one or more bulges, an inner rim member for attaching to an inner peripheral portion of the outer rim member and having two peripheral flanges for engaging with and for securing to the side portions of the outer rim member with an adhesive material. The inner rim member is preferably made of synthetic materials, and the outer rim member is preferably made of metal materials. The outer rim member includes a peripheral shoulder formed in each of the side portions for engaging with and for anchoring the peripheral flanges of the inner rim member.
Abstract:
A bicycle rim is provided that includes a tire attachment portion, a spoke attachment portion and a plurality of reinforcement members. The spoke attachment portion is fixedly coupled with the tire attachment portion. The spoke attachment portion includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced attachment openings. The reinforcement members are fixedly coupled to the spoke attachment portion at the attachment openings to effectively increase the thickness of the spoke attachment portion of the rim at the attachment openings. Each of the reinforcement members is bonded to the spoke attachment portion. The through openings are aligned with the attachment openings.
Abstract:
A bicycle wheel includes a rim with a plurality of holes defined therethrough and each hole receives an insertion section of a nut. The insertion section is enclosed by an inner periphery of the hole and an end surface of the insertion section is in flush with an inner periphery of the rim. A threaded hole is defined in the end surface of the insertion section. A plurality of spokes each have a threaded end at a first end thereof so as to be threadedly connected to the threaded hole of one of the nuts. A hooking end is connected at a second of each spoke so as to be connected to a hub.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a compound, system, and method for retrofitting and converting standard bicycle rims and tires having tube to be tubeless. Standard tube tires are retrofitted by installing either rim tape or a rim strip with integral valve stem around the inner channel of the rim, mounting the first bead of the tire, injecting a liquid sealing compound into the tire cavity, finishing mounting the tire, inflating and installing the tire on a bicycle. The sealing compound may additionally contain propylene glycol or an aggregate material to encourage the sealing of the tires as punctures occur when the tire system is placed into use.
Abstract:
A wheel rim includes two annular sidewalls and a main connecting wall. The main connecting wall has two ends connected respectively and fixedly to radial inner ends of the sidewalls, and opposite radially inner and outer surfaces. The radially inner surface faces the hub, and has two axial surface portions and a middle surface portion that are preferably concaved toward the tire. The radially outer surface has two axial surface portions and a middle portion. The axial surface portions of the radially inner and outer surfaces define two force-bearing areas having a plurality of mounting holes. The middle surface portions of the radially inner and outer surfaces define a weight-reducing area having a thickness smaller than a thickness of the force-bearing areas. The force-bearing areas and the weight-reducing area are arched.
