Abstract:
An adhesive tape (1), including a substrate (6) including a stitched fleece (2) and an adhesive layer (7) applied on one side to the substrate (6), wherein the stitched fleece (2) is formed at least 80% of long fibers (3) that have a fiber length (L1) of 80 mm to 120 mm. The adhesive tape having improved abrasion properties while maintaining a high noise damping.
Abstract:
There is provided a wrapping web (11) having transverse tape assemblies (12) released from a double sided release film (13) and cut to length. The tape assemblies (12) comprise a double sided adhesive tape portion (14) adhered to the baling web (11) and an adhesive tape laminate portion (15) having a release surface overlying the double sided adhesive tape portion (14). The exposed adhesive layer (17) of the adhesive tape (15) permanently adheres to the back surface (24) of the web (11) as it is rolled up. The wrapping web assembly (10) is deployed by unwinding from an accumulator spool into a baling assembly. As the web (11) unspools from the accumulator spool, peel forces are applied to the tape assembly (12) causing separation of the adhesive (14) and double sided adhesive (15) tape portions. This presents an exposed adhesive layer (20) whereby the web (11) can be closed over itself to close the wrapping of a product such as cotton.
Abstract:
A double-sided adhesive tape assembly that includes a double-sided tape having a pressure sensitive adhesive (“PSA”) on each side thereof and a delaminatable release liner in contact with the pressure sensitive adhesive (“PSA”) on one or both sides of the double-sided tape is disclosed. A roll of the double-sided adhesive tape assembly is also disclosed. Methods of making and using the double-sided adhesive tape assembly are also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition. The pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of the present invention exhibits excellent dependability under a high temperature or high humidity condition, and also has excellent stress relaxation property and reworkability when being applied to a polarizing plate, and thus, it can effectively prevent warpage. Accordingly, the pressure-sensitive adhesive composition can be usefully applied for an optical film.
Abstract:
A paint replacement film comprising a polymer layer comprising a polyurethane produced from a formulation comprising at least one blocked isocyanate. The paint replacement film comprises a liner layer and the formulation comprises at least two polyols in OH weight equivalent ratio in the range 4.5:1 to 1:4.5. The formulation may comprise a colourant and the polyurethane may have a glass transition temperature (Tg) below 42° C. Also disclosed is a method of producing a paint replacement film, by providing a backing layer, providing the liquid formulation, cast-coating the backing layer with the liquid formulation, and gelling the liquid formulation, thereby forming a polymer layer comprising polyurethane. The paint replacement films are useful for replacing paint on surfaces especially in automotive applications.
Abstract:
An adhesive label includes a polymeric first film layer that has a high tensile modulus. The label is useful in various labeling applications and especially in adhesive labeling of reusable and recyclable containers which require removal of the label during a washing process in a warm or hot washing fluid.
Abstract:
This application relates to methods and apparatus relating to an adhesive bond that includes an integrated release mechanism. The adhesive bond can secure components in a portable electronic device, such as a battery, to the housing of the portable electronic device. The release mechanism can be embodied as a thin layer of polymeric material sandwiched between a first adhesive layer and a second adhesive layer. The first and second adhesive layers are joined to one another by a number of pillars that extend through openings in the release mechanism. A portion of the release mechanism can protrude from the adhesive bond allowing a technician or user to pull the release mechanism out of the adhesive bond, which severs the pillars that hold the adhesive layers together. In this way, the release mechanism allows for efficient separation of the adhesively secured components.
Abstract:
The pressure-sensitive adhesive film according to the present invention comprises a resin film as a substrate and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer provided at least on a face of the resin film. The resin film has a multi-layer constitution consisting of at least two layers. The resin film has a laser beam reflectance of 5% or higher, but 40% or lower in a wavelength range of 1000 nm to 1100 nm, and has a laser beam transmittance of 5% or lower in the said wavelength range.
Abstract:
A composition for a pressure-sensitive adhesive, includes (A) a (meth)acrylic ester polymer having a trithiocarbonate structure, having hydroxyl groups at both ends of a molecule and having a weight-average molecular weight (Mw), as measured by gel permeation chromatography, of 50,000 to 300,000, and (B) an isocyanate compound having an average number of isocyanate groups in one molecule being more than 2.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a soft-goods product includes substantially permanently affixing a transfer having projecting embellishments in an embroidered style without the use of sewing. The transfer employs an adhesive and pressure application to achieve the substantially permanent attachment. The adhesive includes pressure-sensitive, acrylic and hot-melt adhesives, as well as adhesives having one or more combinations of these features. Pressure is applied in a transverse manner and can be supplemented by an insert having compressibility properties and when desired, supplemented by the application of heat energy.
