    摘要: The thermosetting resin composition of the present invention comprises: a polymer (A) containing at least one monomer selected from ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic anhydride, mono-ester thereof and mono-amide thereof as a repeating unit; and a polymer (B) containing an addition-polymerizable oxazoline and a hydroxyl group-containing monomer as repeating units, which can rapidly form a cured film excellent in acid rain resistance and other properties at relatively low temperature of 70.degree. to 140.degree. C. The further incorporation of a basic compound (C) and/or a compound (D) selected from the group consisting of a monohydric alcohol, a .beta.-diketone and an ortho-carboxylic ester to this thermosciting resin composition can give a remarkably improved storage stability to this resin composition as a one-part type composition. This thermosciting resin composition can exhibit excellent properties as a top clear coating for motor vehicle.

    摘要: A coating varnish composition comprising (A) a polymer obtained by polymerizing one or more unsaturated carboxylic acids (a) with one or more unsaturated monomers (b), and (B) at least one additive selected from triazole derivatives, thiadiazole derivatives, and benzothiazole derivatives, and an antifouling coating composition comprising (i) said coating varnish and (ii) an antifouling agent containing a copper compound as a major component, do not show a danger of organotin copolymers, but provide a coating excellent in coating consuming properties and antifouling properties for a long period of time without causing gelation when mixed with a copper compound.

    摘要: There is disclosed a composite of 1) a polymer containing repeating units derived from a vinyl carboxylic ester having at least one organo terminated poly(alkylene oxide) side chain with the proviso that the poly(alkylene oxide) is present in an amount greater than 35 mole percent of the total of all backbone monomer units and alkylene oxide units in the polymer and 2) a metal oxide wherein the metal oxide comprises between about 1 and about 60 percent by weight of the composite. The composites can be made by a process comprising the steps of:combining the described polymer and a metal oxide precursor in a solvent solution;casting or coating the resulting solution onto a substrate;curing the resulting sample to form acomposite of the polymer and the metal oxide. Optionally, the composite can be removed from the substrate to form a transparent free standing film. These composites have a variety of desirable properties. Optionally, a salt may be added to produce hard, abrasion resistant, transparent, antistatic coatings or films.
