    Abstract: Orthodontic systems for monitoring treatment. The systems can include at least one orthodontic appliance that includes one or more sensors. A processor in communication with the sensor(s) is configured to receive sensor data from the sensor(s), where the sensor data corresponds to a force acting on one or more teeth. The processor is further configured to predict tooth movement based on the sensor data. The predicted tooth movement is determined by predicting how much teeth will move based on a direction and a magnitude of the force. The processor is further configured to compare the predicted tooth movement to an expected tooth movement, where the expected tooth movement is based on a treatment stage of a treatment plan. The processor is further configured to modify the treatment plan if the predicted tooth movement does not match the expected tooth movement based on the treatment stage of the treatment plan.

    Abstract: Orthodontic appliances are provided. In some embodiments, an orthodontic appliance includes a polymeric shell having a plurality of teeth-receiving cavities. The polymeric shell can include a discontinuity that is configured to deform when the orthodontic appliance is worn on a patient's teeth. The orthodontic appliance can also include an elastic member having a first portion directly coupled to a first location on the polymeric shell, and a second portion directly coupled to a second location on the polymeric shell. When the orthodontic appliance is worn on the patient's teeth, the elastic member can be configured to cause an interaction with the deformed discontinuity, the interaction eliciting a movement of one or more of the patient's teeth to change a size of an interproximal space between the patient's teeth.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides method, systems, and devices for expanding arch of teeth. A device for expanding an arch of teeth of a patient can include a removable shell formed of a first material having a number of cavities formed therein. The number of cavities are shaped to receive teeth of a patient. A device for expanding an arch of teeth of a patient can include an arch element extending from the removable shell in a lingual direction and across an arch width of the removable shell. The arch element can be formed of the first material and a second material that is a different material than the first material, can be designed to expand an arch of the teeth of the patient, and can have a width specific to a stage of a treatment plan.
