Abstract:
A nitride semiconductor template having nano-voids at an interface between a substrate having one embossed surface and a nitride semiconductor layer can be rapidly prepared by hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE) growth of the nitride semiconductor layer on the embossed surface of the substrate.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for testing mechanical endurance of a surface of an optical disc are disclosed. The apparatus includes a rotating plate, on which an optical disc to be scratched is loaded, for rotating the loaded optical disc, and a plurality of abrasion wheels of a predetermined type, disposed at a perpendicular to the rotating plate, for contacting the optical disc and generating the scratch, the scratch being generated when the optical disc rotates a predetermined number of turns, e.g., a maximum of 5 turns for the abrasion wheels to apply a predetermined load on the optical disc.
Abstract:
In a semiconductor device fabrication method and in a product formed according to the method, a photosensitive polyimide layer (PSPL) layer is applied to a semiconductor device in a manner which overcomes the limitations of the conventional approaches. The beneficial qualities of an added photoresist layer are utilized to avoid unwanted development of the underlying PSPL layer. In this manner, cracking of the PSPL layer is mitigated or eliminated, reducing the device soft error rate (SER) and increasing device yield. This is accomplished in a reliable and low-cost approach that employs standard device fabrication techniques.
Abstract:
A method for cleaning molding compound tablets while the molding compound tablets are transferred from a tablet container to a molding equipment for encapsulating a microelectronic device. The method includes the steps of loading the molding compound tablets from the tablet container to a tablet parts feeder; transferring the molding compound tablets from the tablet parts feeder to the molding equipment along the transfer line; blowing hot air downwardly on the molded compound tablets as they move along the transfer line; commencing melting of the molded compound tablet, and any contaminants on the molded compound, with the hot air, such that the contaminants are incorporated into a resulting soft tablet dough; and injecting the soft tablet dough into the molding equipment.
Abstract:
An electrically erasable and programmable read only memory (EEPROM) device is disclosed. The EEPROM device includes a memory array coupled to an address bus and a data bus; a register located in a predetermined memory area of the EEPROM device for latching a data bit from the data bus when the address of the register is selected, in which the data bit functions as program enable or disable signal; and means for setting program enable or disable state of the EEPROM device in response to input of the output signal of the register and write enable signal. The register consists of a D-flip flop which has a clock input connected with the write enable signal, and the program enable or disable state setting means includes an OR gate. With this, simple configuration of the system Input/Output address is possible. This invention also effectively interrupts the write enable signal (WE) supplied with the EEPROM memory block after the data input is completed. Thus, loss of data in the memory block is effectively prevented.
Abstract:
A video cassette recorder comprises a power transfer apparatus provided with a timing belt, a capstan motor pulley and a driven belt pulley. The capstan motor pulley includes a first contact body fixed to a capstan motor shaft of a capstan motor and adapted to be contacted with the timing belt, a first fixed guide plate integrally formed on one principal plane of the first contact body facing toward the capstan motor, and a first guide cap detachably mounted on the other principal plane of the first contact body, in order to prevent the timing belt from deviating from the first contact body. The driven belt pulley has a second contact body contacted with the timing belt, a second fixed guide plate integrally formed on one principal plane of the second contact body located in a same direction as the first fixed guide plate, and a second guide cap detachably mounted on the other principal plane of the second contact body in order to prevent the timing belt from deviating from the second contact body.
Abstract:
A novel tape cassette reel lock releasing apparatus for a magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus. The tape cassette reel lock releasing apparatus includes a main base having a releasing boss inserting hole for a standard type cassette tape which corresponds to the position of a through hole formed on the standard type cassette tape and a releasing boss inserting hole for a small type cassette tape which corresponds to the position of a through hole formed on the small type cassette tape. The tape cassette reel lock releasing apparatus also comprises a releasing boss for the standard type cassette tape and a releasing boss for the small type cassette tape. The releasing bosses are respectively inserted into the releasing boss inserting holes from a lower portion of the main base. A supporting rib is attached to the bottom portion of the main base and is provided between the releasing boss inserting holes. A bracket is hinged to the lower end portion of the supporting rib. The bracket moves in a seesaw motion up and down by an external force and supports the lower portions of the releasing bosses. An elastic means extends from the upper portion of the bracket to the lower portion of the main base to raise the releasing boss for the small type cassette tape. Since the constitution of the tape cassette reel lock releasing apparatus is simple, the manufacture thereof is advantageous and an erroneous operation rarely occurs.
Abstract:
An apparatus for movably mounting a full erase head for use in a video cassette recorder includes a solenoid positioned at one side of a deck in the video cassette recorder, a relay lever supported by a pivot secured to the deck in such a way that it is permitted to turn about the pivot by the solenoid, and an interlocking lever for mounting the full erase head, the interlocking lever being supported by a hinge fixed to the deck in such a way that it is allowed to swing about the hinge, depending on the movement of the relay lever, whereby the full erase head is allowed to come into contact with the tape even if the video cassette recorder may be in a fast forward/rewind mode.
