In a travelling band filter comprising an endless belt (6) of trough section, supporting an endless filter band (8) and driven by variable speed gears over a series of suction boxes (Figs. 1, 5, 6, not shown) of which some are aligned with cake washing means, air/liquid separators 12 are located in the lines connecting the suction boxes to respective receivers 31 and the densities of the various liquids are measured therein in terms of the differential pressure developed between vertically spaced pipes 13, 14 from which air is bubbled into the separated liquid, the density measurement in the last line controlling the belt speed to optimise filtration. The delivery of slurry (gypsum and phosphoric acid) and wash water may be controlled by valves controlled by a plastic float engaging the slurry above the belt. The withdrawal of liquid from the receivers may be controlled by floats therein to maintain levels so that air is excluded from the pumps. Lateral migration of cloth band (8) may be monitored and automatically corrected by adjusting an end roller (29), round which band (8), separated from the belt (6) on its lower run to facilitate washing of both sides, is entrained. The densities may be recorded on a multi-point recorder (18).

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a recirculation aquaculture system and method. The system includes a fish pond and a fiber turntable filtering system. The fiber turntable filtering system can implement can remove large particles in aquaculture water and regularly harvest microalgae, water quality after treatment reaches a fishery aquaculture standard, and 97% of the aquaculture water can be directly recycled. In the present disclosure, during in-situ culture of microalgae and fish, microalgae can convert CO2 exhaled by fish and nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus in the aquaculture water into substances of algae cells, such as proteins, polysaccharides, vitamins, and lipids, and release oxygen, so as to quickly improve quality of the aquaculture water; in-situ culture of the microalgae and the fish gives play to the advantages of high photosynthetic efficiency of the microalgae, and the fast-growing microalgae provide a suitable growth environment for the fish.

Abstract: A funnel-less filtration device that attaches directly to a storage container such as a cell culture media bottle. The device includes a filter collar containing one or more membranes, an inlet with a coupling device for attaching the filter device to a supply of liquid to be filtered, an outlet at a lower portion of the collar, a vacuum port in the collar below the membrane(s) and a filtered vent in the collar above the membrane(s). Optionally, the device may include a filtrate reservoir attached to the outlet, preferably by a threaded connection. Optionally, the upper opening to the filter collar is selectively and removably sealed with a lid until used. The lid is then removed the filter device inverted over a storage container such as cell culture media bottle and the two are attached via the upper opening of the filter collar. The assembly is then inverted so the supply container is above the filter device. Upon subjecting the sample in the bottle to a driving force such as vacuum, the sample flows through the filtration element, and into a filtrate reservoir below the outlet of the filter collar.

Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for treating liquid utilizing an in-line filter having a filter bag positioned within a cage contained in an exit sub-chamber of a housing, the exit sub-chamber isolated from an inlet sub-chamber by a baffle, and an end cap to alternatively seal the inlet sub-chamber so that in one mode the device may function as a screen having an exposed filter bag when the exit end of the device is connected to a suction side of a pump and in another mode as a closed vessel where the end cap is connected to a discharge of a pump or in a further mode where the exit end is connected to a suction side of a pump. The low profile, lightweight, inline filter device provides for versatility and a much needed filter device for two modes of connection to a suction side of a pump while also able to connect to a discharge side of a pump.
