Abstract: In some examples, an ambulatory medical device is provided. The ambulatory medical device includes at least one sensor configured to acquire data descriptive of the patient, one or more processors in communication with the at least one sensor, a patient care component executable by the one or more processors, and a limited functionality component executable by the one or more processors. The patient care component is configured to perform one or more primary operations of the ambulatory medical device at least in part by accessing the data descriptive of the patient. The limited functionality component is configured to exchange information with a communication device and to not affect the one or more primary operations of the ambulatory medical device.

Abstract: Techniques that enable medical devices to quickly recover from loss of sensory functions are provided. In some examples, a medical device is configured to advantageously leverage differences between a first type of sensing electrode and a second type of sensing electrode that has a shorter recovery time than the first type of sensing electrode. In some examples, a medical device is configured to reference data generated by a first conditioning circuit that is configured to process signals acquired under a first set of environmental conditions and to reference data generated by a second conditioning circuit that is configured to process signal acquired under a second set of environmental conditions. In some examples, a medical device is configured to arrange electrodes used by the medical device to acquire signals in at specific locations to reduce the amount of disruptive power the electrodes encounter.

Abstract: A wearable therapeutic device includes a first therapy electrode and a second therapy electrode, each configured to be electrically coupled to an external defibrillator; and a garment configured to house the first therapy electrode and the second therapy electrode. The garment is configured to releasably receive a replaceable receptacle configured to store a conductive gel in a location proximate to at least one of the first therapy electrode and the second therapy electrode. The garment is configured to releasably receive a receptacle control unit. The receptacle control unit is separate from the replaceable receptacle. The receptacle control unit is configured to activate deployment of the stored conductive gel from the replaceable receptacle.

Abstract: According to at least one example, an ambulatory medical device is provided. The device includes a plurality of electrodes disposed at spaced apart positions about a patient's body and a control unit. The control unit includes a sensor interface, a memory and a processor. The sensor interface is coupled to the plurality of electrodes and configured to receive a first ECG signal from a first pairing of the plurality of electrodes and to receive a second ECG signal from a second pairing of the plurality of electrodes. The memory stores information indicating a preferred pairing, the preferred pairing being either the first pairing or the second pairing. The processor is coupled to the sensor interface and the memory and is configured to resolve conflicts between interpretations of first ECG signal and the second ECG signal in favor of the preferred pairing.

Abstract: A wearable therapeutic device includes a garment configured to be worn on a torso of a patient. The garment has an anterior portion and a posterior portion. The garment is configured to house at least one defibrillator component, a first therapy electrode disposed in the anterior portion of the garment, a second therapy electrode disposed in the posterior portion of the garment, and an alarm module configured to alert the patient of an impending defibrillation shock from the at least one defibrillator component to be delivered by at least one of the first therapy electrode and the second therapy electrode. The first therapy electrode and the second therapy electrode are configured to be electrically coupled to the at least one defibrillator component. At least one of the first therapy electrode and the second therapy electrode is at least one of woven into the garment and comprises a textile material.

Abstract: An electrode assembly that includes an electrically conductive layer, a first impedance reduction system, and a second impedance reduction system. The electrically conductive layer forms an electrode portion of the electrode assembly and a first surface to be placed adjacent a person's skin. Abstract: An ambulatory medical device including a plurality of electrodes configured to be disposed at spaced apart positions about a patient's body, an electrode signal acquisition circuit, and a monitoring circuit. The acquisition circuit has a plurality of inputs each electrically coupled to a respective electrode of the plurality of electrodes and is configured to sense a respective signal provided by a plurality of different pairings of the plurality of electrodes. The monitoring circuit is electrically coupled to an output of the acquisition circuit and is configured to analyze the respective signal provided by each of the plurality of different pairings and to instruct the acquisition circuit to select at least one of the plurality of different pairings to monitor based on at least one of the quality of the respective signal, a phase difference between the respective signal and that of other pairings, a position of electrodes relative to the patient's body, and other criteria.

Abstract: An ambulatory medical device is provided. The ambulatory medical device includes at least one sensor configured to acquire physiological data of a patient, at least one network interface and at least one processor coupled to the at least one sensor and the at least one network interface. The at least one processor is configured to detect, via the at least one network interface, a medical device, to establish a secure communication session with the medical device via the at least one network interface, to detect a data capacity of the secure communication session, to identify a category of patient data associated with the data capacity, and to transmit patient data of the category to the medical device via the secure communication session.

Abstract: According to another example, a wearable medical device controller is provided. The device controller includes a memory and a processor coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to determine a correlation between a phenomenon identifiable by the wearable medical device controller and at least one response pattern associated with a patient and store, responsive to detecting the correlation, an adaptation path to address the at least one response pattern, the adaptation path specifying an adaptation of at least one characteristic of an alarm. The at least one response pattern may include a plurality of response patterns and the adaptation path may reflect adaptations made to address at least some of the plurality of response patterns.

Abstract: An ambulatory medical device is provided. The ambulatory medical device includes at least one sensor configured to acquire data descriptive of a patient, a memory, a user interface, and at least one processor coupled with the memory, the at least one sensor, and the user interface. The at least one processor is configured to determine whether the ambulatory medical device is within a predefined range of a reference location and to initiate location-specific processing in response to determining that the ambulatory medical device is within the predefined range. The location-specific processing includes at least one of issuing a notification and adapting the user interface.
