    摘要: A dielectric filter having a dielectric body made of dielectric material and having an outer surface including first and second end faces; an external conductor disposed on the outer surface of the dielectric body; at least one hole extending through the dielectric body between the two end faces, the at least one hole having a respective inner surface; the at least one hole having a pair of internal conductors respectively provided in the corresponding hole and conductively connected to the external conductor at respective ends of the corresponding hole, a respective non-conductive portion at the inner surface of the corresponding hole being spaced from both ends of the respective hole and thereby separating the corresponding pair of internal conductors and defining a capacitance between the corresponding pair of internal conductors; the first end face of said dielectric body being closer to the non-conductive portion at the inner surface of the corresponding hole than the second end face; the first end face having a non-conductive portion free of a portion of the external conductor, the non-conductive portion being disposed at a location for adjusting either a resonance frequency or a coupling degree of the filter, or both. At the first end face of the dielectric body, the non-conductive portion may in addition be free of a portion of the dielectric material.

    摘要: There is disclosed a dielectric filter comprising: an attenuation band in proximity to a pass band; a threshold-frequency position of a determined maximum insertion loss being arranged close to a shoulder portion of a waveform exhibiting pass characteristics in which insertion losses increase in a region from the pass band to the attenuation band; temperature characteristics of a dielectric material being determined in such a manner that the shoulder portion moves toward the attenuation-band direction according to an increase and decrease in temperature. In the above dielectric filter, the deterioration of insertion-loss characteristics with respect to temperature changes is improved so that good characteristics are exhibited over a wide range of temperatures.

    摘要: A light modulator having a reduced parasitic static capacitance includes a semiconductor substrate having a mesa section and a bonding pad section. A primary insulating film on the substrate continuously covers the mesa section and the bonding pad section. After a mask has been formed on a portion of the primary insulating film opposite the bonding pad section, the remaining portion of the primary insulating film is etched, followed by removal of the mask. After the removal of the mask, a second insulating film is formed continuously covering the primary insulating film opposite the bonding pad section and the mesa section so that a relatively thick insulating layer is present only opposite the bonding pad section.

    摘要: A dielectric filter has a stepped resonator hole and straight resonator holes. A portion of a short-circuited end surface of the dielectric block, corresponding to a resonator formed in the stepped resonator hole, is removed, so that the short-circuited end surface has a stepped shape defined by a step surface. Thus the stepped resonator is shorter than the straight resonators. It is thus possible to provide a filter in which the respective resonant frequencies of the resonators are substantially the same, and inner conductor-free portions in the stepped hole and straight holes may be formed at substantially the same distances from an open-circuited end surface, while still obtaining firm coupling between the resonators.
