Abstract:
In continuous printing operation which repeatedly sets a state in which when a preceding printing material passes through the nip area of a thermal fixing unit, a succeeding printing material has been supplied to an image forming unit and image forming operation has been started, a first temperature indicating an ambient temperature near the thermal fixing unit is measured at an early time point in the continuous printing operation. A second temperature indicating the temperature of the printing material which has passed through the press contact nip portion at a predetermined period of time during the continuous printing operation is measured. The amount of heat to be supplied to the succeeding printing material is controlled on the basis of the measured first and second temperatures.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an image thermal apparatus including a flexible metallic sleeve, the inner peripheral surface of which contacts a heater. In order to provide increased durability for the sliding face of the heater, an imide resin that contains silicon nitride elementary particles is used to coat the sliding face of the heater.
Abstract:
The image heating apparatus for heating a toner image formed on a recording material, includes a rotatable member; heating device for heating an outer peripheral surface of the rotatable member, the heating device including a heater for forming a heating nip portion in cooperation with the rotatable member; back-up device for forming a conveying nip portion in cooperation with the rotatable member, the conveying nip portion conveying the recording material; and control device for controlling a temperature of the heater and a rotation of the rotatable member; wherein the apparatus has a cleaning mode to remove toner from the heating device, wherein the control device, in the cleaning mode, starts energizing the heater to dissipate heat in a condition that the rotatable member stops and afterward stops energizing the heater, and wherein the control device rotates the rotatable member until a part which forms a heating nip portion in a peripheral direction of the rotatable member reaches the conveying nip portion. By the virtue of the present invention, it prevents stain caused by the off-set of toner the recording material in an image heating apparatus.
Abstract:
An image-forming apparatus includes a movable lever which functions as a recording medium detector for detecting the passage of a recording medium and a temperature detecting portion provided on the movable lever. The temperature of the recording medium is detected without providing an additional space for a sensor for detecting the temperature of the recording medium.

Abstract:
In the head-fixing apparatus of the film heating system in an image forming apparatus, a heat capacity is controlled to be as small as possible because the quick-start property is recognized to be more importance. Thus, heat conductivity in the longitudinal direction is poor and, due to a relationship between the area where a recording material is conveyed and the heating area of the energizing heating resistance layer, a) heat is insufficient at the end portion in the initial period and b) unusual temperature rising occurs at the end portion at the time of continuous heat-fixing. In order to resolve those problem, an apparatus which can control adequately temperature at the area where a recording material is conveyed without rising temperature at the end portion of a heater as a non-sheet passing area.
Abstract:
An object of the invention is to provide a method for producing a laminated film comprising at least two resin films bonded together, which is capable of increasing the adhesiveness of the bonding surface and forming a laminated film with high reliability. The method for producing a laminated film according to the invention comprising at least two resin films laminated together, which comprises: a fluorination treatment step comprising bringing a fluorine and oxygen atoms-containing treatment gas into contact with at least a partial region of the surface of at least one of the two resin films to increase the adhesiveness of the region; and a bonding step comprising bonding the two resin films together using, as a bonding surface, the surface that has been brought into contact with the treatment gas.
Abstract:
An object the invention is to provide a phosphorus pentafluoride producing process wherein phosphorus pentafluoride is separated/extracted from a pentavalent phosphorus compound or a solution thereof, or a composition obtained by allowing the pentavalent phosphorus compound or the solution thereof to react with hydrogen fluoride, thereby producing phosphorus pentafluoride; and a phosphate hexafluoride producing process wherein the resultant phosphorus pentafluoride is used as raw material to produce a phosphate hexafluoride high in purity. The present invention relates to a process for producing phosphorus pentafluoride, wherein a carrier gas is brought into contact with either of the following one: a pentavalent phosphorus compound, a solution thereof, or a solution in which a composition obtained by allowing the pentavalent phosphorus compound or the solution thereof to react with hydrogen fluoride is dissolved, thereby a phosphorus pentafluoride is extracted into the career gas.
Abstract:
It is an object of the present invention to provide a surface-modified film which has adhesive properties improved by surface modification and a process for producing the same. It is also an object of the present invention to provide a laminated film in which at least the surface-modified film has been laminated and a process for producing the laminated film. The surface-modified film according to the present invention is characterized by being obtained by bringing a halide complex of an element in Group 13 of the periodic table into contact with at least a part of a region in the surfaces of a resin film.
