Abstract: A radio communications system includes a communication radio and an antenna module positioned external to the communication radio. An antenna cable connects the radio and the antenna module. The radio superposes a power voltage for operating the antenna module on a signal line of the antenna cable and transmits to the antenna module through the antenna cable a control signal that controls a gain of a transmission amplifier and duplexers while the transmission signal is not transmitted therethrough. In such manner, a control of the antenna module is enabled without affecting the transmission signal.

Abstract: An antenna device 1 has a dielectric substrate 2, a patch antenna 5 and electric power absorbing passive elements 21, 24 formed on a surface of the dielectric substrate. Each electric power absorbing passive element 21, 24 is formed between the patch antenna 5 and an edge portion in a polarized wave direction of the dielectric substrate 2. The electric power absorbing passive elements 21, 24 absorb a part of electric power received by the patch antenna 5. This makes it possible to suppress a surface current flowing to the edge portions of the dielectric substrate on a conductive plate (a front-surface conductor plate 3 or a back surface conductor plate 4) on the dielectric substrate.

Abstract: An antenna system includes a case, an antenna configured for a first communication system, an inside orthogonal antenna configured for a polarization diversity communication system, and an outside orthogonal antenna configured for the polarization diversity communication system. The antenna for the first communication system and the inside orthogonal antenna are disposed inside the case such that a main radiation polarization plane of the inside orthogonal antenna is orthogonal to a main radiation polarization plane of the antenna for the first communication system. The outside orthogonal antenna is disposed outside the case such that a main radiation polarization plane of the outside orthogonal antenna is orthogonal to the main radiation polarization plane of the inside orthogonal antenna.

Abstract: A vehicle-mounted antenna device includes a base, a board, a circuit section, and a housing. The base is mountable on a roof of a vehicle. The board has an antenna element section and is stood on a surface of the base. The circuit section serves as at least part of a wireless communication circuit electrically connected to the antenna element section. The housing is made of a resin material and forms a projection of a vehicle outer shape. The board and the circuit section are located in space formed by the base and the housing. The board is stood on the surface of the base so that a first direction perpendicular to the surface of the base differs from a second direction equal to a thickness direction of the board. The circuit section implemented on the board at a position away from the base in the first direction.

Abstract: A radar device is equipped with a radar emitting section, a radar input section, a detector, and a cover. The radar emitting section radiates an electromagnetic wave. The radar input section receives a return of the electromagnetic wave from an object. The detector works to detect the object using the return of the electromagnetic wave inputted to the radar input section. The cover covers an object portion that is at least one of the radar emitting section and the radar input section. The cover is designed to have a convex lens formed on a portion of the cover through which the electromagnetic wave passes to the object portion. The cover is made in the form of a radome. The structure of such a radome serves to decrease the power consumption of the radar device.
