The coatings include at least one hydrophilic agent bound to one or more coating components, such as a rheology modifier, a surfactant, a coalescing agent, and a pigment. The hydrophilic agents are attached to the coating components covalently.

Technologies are described for methods and compounds for mitigating dag on hair. The method comprises applying a compound having at least one hydrophobic component and at least two reactive functional components to the hair and applying a binder to the hair. The applying of the compound and the binder to the hair enables a reaction with the hair and the formation of a matrix in situ with the hair. The matrix has the at least one hydrophobic component extending from the hair and imparts its hydrophobicity to the hair to mitigate the dag.

Disclosed herein are derivatives of phenolic and melamine compounds, methods of making these derivatives, and methods of using them. The compounds include phenolic and melamine compounds with multi-functional acrylate groups, polyethylene glycol and amino groups. The compounds may be cured to form resins that may be used in a variety of applications, such as paints, hydrogels, polyacrylate super absorbent polymers (SAPs), adhesives, composites, sealants, fillers, fire retardants, crosslinking agents, and the like.

The method comprises applying a hydrophobic silicon containing constituent and a reactive constituent onto the hair. The reactive constituent enables a reaction with the hair that binds the hydrophobic silicon constituent to the hair and the hydrophobic silicon constituent imparts its hydrophobicity to the hair to mitigate dag on the hair.

Compositions, coatings, and energy storage fabrications made of support polymers or active waxes in a grafted matrix to an amorphous wax and at least one functional compound and their methods of preparation are presented. Amorphous waxes are typified by paraffin waxes. Functional compounds include various fatty alcohols, fatty acids, ester, amines, and amidoalkylamines. Sulfonated and oxidized ion exchange resins may be grafted to the matrix. The compositions are capable of storing or releasing energy upon a physical phase change transition.

Disclosed are antioxidative natural compounds, their salts, chelates and cleavage derivatives that exhibit a superior combination of properties. The compounds can be used for a variety of purposes, including the stabilization of polymers. The compounds can be prepared by substantially cleaving a humic acid of formula I followed by esterification to provide at least one antioxidant compounds of formula V, formula VI, formula VII, formula VIII, salts thereof, or chelates thereof.
