摘要: A bearing device for a drive wheel is provided with improved strength of coupling a hub wheel and an outer joint member without significantly raising the manufacturing cost. The bearing device for a drive wheel includes the hub wheel, a constant velocity universal joint and bearings arranged in inner races, the hub wheel, the universal joint and the bearings being unitized, at least the inner race being formed in the outer joint member of the constant velocity universal joint. In the bearing device, the hub wheel and the outer joint member are meshed with each other by way of serrations and coupled to each other by caulking. Undulations of serrations at near a caulked section being filled with plastic deformed part caused by the caulking.

摘要: A tire wheel bearing apparatus comprises an outer member having multi rows of track surfaces integrally provided on an inner periphery, an inner member having a tire wheel mounting flange provided at one end thereof, a cylindrical small diameter step portion provided at another end thereof and double-rows of track surfaces formed on the inner wheels force fitted to the small diameter step portion so as to oppose to the track surfaces of the outer member, and double-rows of rolling elements respectively interposed between the track surfaces in the outer member and the inner member, the inner wheels being fixed to the inner member by radially outwardly caulking the end portion of the small diameter step portion of the inner member, the track surfaces in the outer member and the inner member and the rolling elements has a contact angle with a bearing clearance being set to be negative.

摘要: A fixed type constant velocity universal joint comprises a ball and a lubricating grease sealed therein. A surface roughness of the ball is set to Ra 0.15 μm or less and a surface roughness of a counterpart surface on which the ball rolls is set to be higher than the surface roughness of the ball. An additive composition of the lubricating grease comprises a base oil, a diurea compound, molybdenum dithiocarbamate, zinc dialkyldithiophosphate, melamine cyanurate, molybdenum disulfide, and calcium salt of alkylaromatic sulfonic acid.

摘要: Provided is a power transmission shaft to achieve enhancement of a static torsional strength of a smooth portion. The power transmission shaft according to the present invention includes a torque-transmission teeth portion (2) formed on an outer peripheral surface on an end portion side, and a smooth portion (3) formed on the outer peripheral surface adjacent to the torque-transmission teeth portion (2) so as to have a stepwise reduced diameter. A ratio of a minimum diameter (D3min) of the smooth portion (3) to a minimum diameter (D2min) of the torque-transmission teeth portion (2) is set to 0.9 or more and 1.02 or less. Further, the torque-transmission teeth portion (2) and the smooth portion (3) undergo heat treatment so as to from a heat-treated hardened layer (4). The heat-treated hardened layer (4) is formed to increase in depth from a side of the torque transmission teeth portion (2) to a side of the smooth portion (3). At least a minimum diameter portion (3a) of the smooth portion (3) undergoes full hardening for forming the heat-treated hardened layer (4) from a surface to an axis (X).

摘要: A wheel bearing device is provided to prevent loosening of a hub ring and an outer joint ring that are fitted together. An irregular portion treated with hardening is formed on a fit face of the hub ring on an inside periphery of which the outer joint member is fitted. A low hardness portion of the outer joint member formed with hardness lower than that of the irregular portion is expanded in diameter to make it bite into the irregular portion. In this way the hub ring and the outer joint ring are unitized together.

摘要: A driving wheel bearing unit is disclosed which facilitates works including mounting and dismounting to/from a car body. The driving wheel bearing unit is set to satisfy Da≧Db, where Da is the diameter of its external member across a fitting surface thereof to be fitted to a mating member such as a knuckle, and Db is the maximum diameter of its constant velocity joint, so that a mounting bolt fixing the external member can be released to allow unitary extraction of the entire wheel bearing unit and the external member.

摘要: A constant velocity joint assembly for a vehicle, having a fixed-type constant velocity joint linked at one end of a shaft portion of a vehicle and a plunging type constant velocity joint linked to the other end of the shaft portion. The fixed type constant velocity joint includes an outer joint member having eight curved guide grooves axially formed in the spherical inner surface and an inner joint member having eight curved guide grooves axially formed in the spherical outer surface. Serrations (or splines) are formed on the inner surface for connection to a shaft portion. Eight torque transmitting balls are disposed in ball tracks defined between the guide grooves of the outer and inner joint members. A cage retains the torque transmitting balls.
