摘要: An electronic watermarking embedding-processing section acquires layout information which specifies an embedding area of first sub information and an embedding area of second sub information in main image information. The electronic watermarking embedding-processing section performs overlapping processing for invisibly embedding the first sub information in the embedding area of the first sub information in the main image information which is specified by the layout information. The electronic watermarking embedding-processing section performs overlapping processing for invisibly embedding the second sub information in the embedding area of the second sub information in the main image information which is specified by the layout information. The electronic watermarking embedding-processing section creates composite image information by composing image information in which the first sub information is invisibly embedded in the main image information and image information in which the second sub information is invisibly embedded in the main image information.

摘要: Provided is an optical body capable of arbitrarily and quickly controlling the optical characteristics of incident light. A refractive index variable layer (8) formed of PLZT or other material and a magneto-optical material layer (9) formed of garnet or other material are provided side by side between a first reflective layer (3) and a second reflective layer (5). If linearly polarized light is made incident from the side of the first reflective layer (3), the incident light interacts with the magneto-optical material layer (9) and is converted into a right-circularly polarized light component and a left-circularly polarized light component. A very small retardation occurring between both the right- and left-circularly polarized light components is amplified through multiple reflections between the pair of reflective layers (3, 5) and is controlled according to a controlled refractive index of the refractive index variable layer (8). If the left- and right-circularly polarized light components, the retardation between which is thus amplified and controlled, are made to interact with the magneto-optical material layer (9) again to recover the linearly polarized light, the plane of polarization rotates according to the retardation.

摘要: A valve timing adjusting apparatus includes a housing, a vane rotor, and a fluid path arrangement. The fluid path arrangement is provided inside the housing. The fluid path arrangement opens to air outside the housing. The fluid path arrangement is communicated with a specific fluid chamber that is one of an advance fluid chamber and a retard fluid chamber defined within the housing. A rotational phase of the vane rotor relative to the housing is changed in one of advance and retard directions when hydraulic oil is introduced into the specific fluid chamber. The valve timing adjusting apparatus controls the fluid path arrangement to be opened and closed.

摘要: A variable valve timing apparatus includes a variable valve timing mechanism that includes a first rotating body and a second rotating body that are rotating bodies that rotate about the same rotational axis; advance chambers and retard chambers that serve as hydraulic pressure chambers into which hydraulic fluid is supplied from an oil pump; and a discharge passage that discharges hydraulic fluid from the hydraulic pressure chambers. At least one of the hydraulic pressure chambers that is communicated with the discharge passage in a position vertically higher than the rotational axis when the first rotating body and the second rotating body have stopped rotating at a given phase, and from which hydraulic fluid is discharged into the discharge passage, is placed in a state constantly open to ambient air regardless of the phase at which the first rotating body and the second rotating body have stopped.

摘要: A wafer processing method for dividing a wafer into individual devices along a plurality of crossing streets formed on the front side of the wafer, the individual devices being respectively formed in a plurality of regions partitioned by the streets. The wafer processing method includes the steps of attaching the front side of the wafer to a dicing tape supported to an annular dicing frame, grinding the back side of the wafer to reduce the thickness of the wafer to a predetermined thickness, forming a break start point along each street from the back side of the wafer, applying an external force to the wafer to break the wafer along each street where the break start point is formed, thereby dividing the wafer into the individual devices, attaching the back side of the wafer to a front side of an adhesive tape supported to an annular frame and next removing the adhesive tape from the front side of the adhesive tape, and peeling off and picking up each device from the adhesive tape.
