摘要: A plurality of lamp piece units constituting light sources by semiconductor light emitting elements are used as a first lamp piece unit which is lighted in a low beam mode. Additionally, a single lamp piece unit constituting a light source by an electric discharge bulb color temperature of emitted light of which is as high as that of the semiconductor light emitting element, is used as a second lamp piece unit, which is additionally lighted in a high beam mode. When the beam is switched from the low beam to the high beam, pale irradiated light from the first lamp piece unit is added with pale irradiated light from the second lamp piece unit to thereby provide an impression for the driver and/or passenger of unity in colors between the two lamp piece units.

Thereby, light can be irradiated in correspondence with the situation of running the vehicle and life of the light source can sufficiently been ensured. Further, the additional lamp piece unit is made to be able to be compactly constituted to promote a degree of freedom of arranging the additional lamp piece unit.

摘要: A headlamp having a plurality of lighting units using light emitting diodes as light sources. A cutoff line forming unit, hot zone forming units, and a diffusion region forming unit are used as these lighting units. Consequently, a light distribution pattern for a low beam having a desirable pattern shape and light intensity distribution can be obtained as the synthetic light distribution pattern of light distribution patterns formed by the irradiation of a light from these three kinds of lighting units.

The primary light source unit 14 includes a primary reflector 34 and an upwardly oriented reflecting surface 36a which extends rearwards from the rear focal point F of the projection lens 12. The secondary light source unit 16 includes a secondary reflector 44 that reflects light upwards so as to be caused to substantially converge on a location lying near the rear focal point F on a downwardly oriented reflecting surface 46a, which extends obliquely downwards from a front end edge of the upwardly oriented reflecting surface 36a towards a rear of the lamp.

摘要: A vehicular headlamp for emitting light with a predetermined light distribution pattern, includes a semiconductor light emitting element including a substantially linear light emitting area for generating the light therefrom, and an optical device for forming at least a part of a cut line to determine a boundary between bright and dark with regard to the light distribution pattern by reflecting or deflecting the light generated by the semiconductor light emitting element and projecting a shape of the light emitting area. The vehicular headlamp may further include a plurality of the semiconductor light emitting elements being arranged in a row in a direction corresponding to at least a part of the cut line, wherein the optical device forms at least a part of the cut line by projecting the shape of the light emitting area with regard to each of the plurality of semiconductor light emitting elements towards positions arranged in a row over at least a part of the cut line.

摘要: A light emitting module includes a semiconductor light emitting element disposed on a rectangular board, and a pair of plane-shaped electrode portions formed on the board and coupled to the semiconductor light emitting element. The pair of plane-shaped electrode portions is separated in first opposite directions, and a center of the semiconductor light emitting element is shifted from a center of the board in one of second opposite directions. End faces of the pair of plane-shaped electrode portions do not protrude in the one of the second opposite directions from an end face of the semiconductor light emitting element on a side facing toward the one of the second opposite directions. The first opposite directions are directions along which one pair of opposite sides of the board extend, and the second opposite directions are directions along which the other pair of opposite sides of the board extend.
