Abstract:
An upright vacuum cleaner includes a main body, a floor nozzle unit, and a float plate or float unit. The main body has a motor fan for generating a suction force and a dust-collection chamber for collecting dust. The motor fan provides the suction force to the dust collection chamber. The floor nozzle unit is disposed under the main body. The floor nozzle unit has an inlet port connected to the dust-collection chamber for attracting dust on a floor into the dust-collection chamber by the suction force of said motor fan. The float plate or float unit is disposed on a lower face of the floor nozzle unit. The float plate or float unit includes a floor opposing face where an outlet port is formed for spouting discharge air to the floor from the motor fan. The float face is located around the outlet port to receive a lifting force produced by pressure of the discharge air between the float face and the floor to be cleaned. The float unit has an elastic portion arranged on a lower portion of the float unit to contact a floor. Also, a pressure-regulating valve is provided for controlling the pressure of the discharge air so as to maintain the discharge air pressure under a predetermined safe pressure.

A radio communication apparatus comprising a modulating portion for modulating a carrier with a signal to transmit so as to produce a transmissible signal; a signal transmitting portion for transmitting the transmissible signal; a level adjusting portion for adjusting a level of the signal to transmit or a level of a control signal used for controlling the transmissible signal in accordance with digital control data supplied to the level adjusting portions; a memory for storing digital adjusting data; and a control unit for reading the digital adjusting data from the memory and supplying the level adjusting portion with the digital adjusting data read from the memory or modified digital adjusting data obtained based on the digital adjusting data read from the memory as the digital control data.
Abstract:
An improved optical information recording and reproducing apparatus which is capable of detecting recording errors simultaneously with recording function for reduction of recording time, without requiring particular high accuracy for an optical system, and avoiding complication in the construction and consequent large size of the optical system.
Abstract:
A connection wire manufacturing system is provided in which a number of pairs of press-connecting terminals are formed in a hoop material, each being coupled at the heads with each other, and the hoop material with the pairs of press-connecting terminals is transferred to a press-connecting step where those pairs of terminals are separated into individual pairs of terminals and those individual ones are press-connected to connection wires with given lengths properly prepared into a continuous connection wire line which is allowed to be taken up by a take-up drum.
Abstract:
In a process for preparing a laminated resin product by melt-laminating (1) a modified polyolefin composition with (2) a polyester, a polyamide or a hydrolyzed copolymer of ethylenevinylacetate, the improvement comprising using as the modified polyolefin a modified polyolefin composition which comprises a mixture of 60 - 97 wt.% of a polyolefin which polyolefin comprises from 0.1 to 100 wt.% of a polyolefin modified with an unsaturated acid or anhydride content is from 0.01 to 10 wt.% of the total polyolefin content and wherein an unmodified polyolefin comprises from 99.9 to 0 wt.% of the total polyolefin content with 40 - 3 wt.% of a rubber component having 40 - 140 of Mooney viscosity 50 ML.sub.1 + .sub.4 (100.degree. C) and the product so produced.
Abstract:
An object is to manufacture a semiconductor device including an oxide semiconductor film, which has stable electric characteristics and high reliability. A crystalline oxide semiconductor film is formed, without performing a plurality of steps, as follows: by utilizing a difference in atomic weight of plural kinds of atoms included in an oxide semiconductor target, zinc with low atomic weight is preferentially deposited on an oxide insulating film to form a seed crystal including zinc; and tin, indium, or the like with high atomic weight is deposited on the seed crystal while causing crystal growth. Further, a crystalline oxide semiconductor film is formed by causing crystal growth using a seed crystal with a hexagonal crystal structure including zinc as a nucleus, whereby a single crystal oxide semiconductor film or a substantially single crystal oxide semiconductor film is formed.
Abstract:
To clean sediments and the like trapped not only in a top layer of a sand filtration layer, but also in intermediate layers. A seawater infiltration method which uses a water infiltration intake unit which is formed in advance and provided with a water intake pipe embedded in a gravel layer which forms a deep layer of the sand filtration layer, and a backwashing pipe embedded in a sand layer which forms an intermediate layer and a surface layer of the sand filtration layer, and a water suction pipe which is disposed above the sand layer. A desired number of water infiltration intake units are combined to form a sand filtration layer at an installation site on an ocean floor, and they intake seawater from the sea which has undergone natural infiltration in the sand filtration layer and this is introduced into the water intake pipe. The seawater infiltration rate is set at less than 400 m/day. Water or air is injected from the backwashing pipe to agitate and blow upward from the surface layer living organisms or sediments trapped in intermediate layers of the sand filtration layer, and the agitated water is sucked in by a suction pipe and recovered. The seawater infiltration rate can be maintained as high as possible under 400 m/day.
