    摘要: Mechanisms for selecting beam direction for a radio communications device are provided. A method is performed by the radio communications device. The method includes obtaining radio channel estimates of a radio channel on which radio waves have been transmitted between the radio communications device and another radio communications device at an angle of arrival and departure. The method includes determining a Doppler shift from the radio channel estimates. The method includes estimating at least one of the angle of arrival and departure of the radio waves based on the Doppler shift. The method includes selecting a beam direction for a signal to be transmitted between the radio communications device and this another radio communications device over the radio channel according to the estimated angle of arrival or departure.

    摘要: Methods and apparatuses for determining a position of a wireless device in a wireless communication network are provided. The method includes obtaining a first sequence of Time Difference of Arrivals (TDOAs) at the wireless device of reference signals, which are transmitted by and used for synchronization of a first pair of network nodes; and determining, based on the first sequence of TDOAs, a first relative distance. The method also includes obtaining a second sequence of TDOAs at the wireless device of reference signals, which are transmitted by and used for synchronization of a second pair of network nodes; and determining, based on the first sequence of TDOAs, a second relative distance. The method further includes determining the position of the wireless device based on the first and second relative distances. Corresponding computer programs and computer program carriers are also disclosed.

    摘要: A method for adapting a beam shape of a beam in a wireless communication system having multiple nodes is disclosed. Each node is provided with an antenna system configured to provide radio coverage in a cell by a cell specific beam. The method comprises: calculating a transmit weight vector for each user to be served by a given cell based on information of spatial channel characteristics for the user to be served by the given cell and long term interference characteristics estimated based on aggregated information of spatial channel characteristics for users that the given cell should avoid interfering with and that are served by other cells; performing phase normalization of the calculated transmit weight vectors; and aggregating all transmit weight vectors to establish a common transmit weight vector used to form the beam shape for the cell specific beam.

    摘要: A method for acquiring an indication of a preferred beam of a wireless communication device is disclosed. The method is performed in a network node of a cellular communication network. The network node is adapted to support a plurality of beams of a signal beamforming scheme and to communicate with the wireless communication device using at least one beam of the plurality of beams. The method comprises acquiring a beam power setting of the plurality of beams. The beam power setting comprises a power offset being applied to at least one beam of the plurality of beams, the power offset being relative to a nominal power setting of the plurality of beams. The method also comprises transmitting (to the wireless communication device) a message indicative of the beam power setting, transmitting measurement signals, and receiving (from the wireless communication device) a report indicative of the preferred beam, wherein the preferred beam is determined by the wireless communication device based on the measurement signals and the beam power setting.

The method comprises communicating, using a current beam, with another radio transceiver device. The method comprises obtaining a signal strength indicator and a transmission rank of the current beam. The method comprises determining an adjustment indicator for adjusting beam width of the current beam for continued communications with said another radio transceiver device. The adjustment indicator is based on the signal strength indicator and the 0 transmission rank. The method comprises initiating adjustment of the beam width according to the adjustment indicator.
