Abstract: A method for verifying the parking brake force in a vehicle includes comparing a travel of a brake booster with a reference travel. The method further includes producing an error signal in case of a predetermined deviation between the travel of the brake booster and the reference travel. The vehicle includes a hydraulic vehicle brake with a brake booster and an electromechanical brake mechanism with an electric brake motor for producing a braking force to displace a brake piston.

Abstract: A brake system may include an actuating device, in particular a brake pedal; a first piston-cylinder unit having two pistons subjecting the brake circuits to a pressure medium via a valve device, wherein one of the pistons can be actuated by the actuation device; a second piston-cylinder unit having an electric motor drive, a transmission at least one piston to supply at least one of the brake circuits with a pressure medium via a valve device; and a motor pump unit with a valve device to supply the brake circuits with a pressure medium. The brake system may also include a hydraulic travel simulator with a pressure or working chamber which is connected to the first piston-cylinder unit.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a system determines a signal fault at a communication bus of an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV). In response to determining the signal fault, the system sends a brake pre-charge command to a brake system of the ADV to pre-charge a brake of the ADV. The system determines a preset tolerance time to validate the signal fault. In response to a time elapse of the preset tolerance time, the system validates the signal fault at the communication bus or determine a signal fault at another communication bus. In response to validating the signal fault at the communication bus or determining the signal fault at the another communication bus, the system sends a brake command to the brake system of the ADV to engage brakes for the ADV.

The parking brake apparatus also comprises a second controller arranged to provide one or more control signals to be applied to other components of the parking brake system to apply the parking brake in response to unavailability of the first controller to cause the parking brake to be applied.

Abstract: A hydraulic motor vehicle braking system includes a first functional unit, a second functional unit and a switching device. The first functional unit comprises at least one first valve arrangement designed to optionally connect or disconnect at least one first wheel brake associated with a first axle to or from an existing hydraulic pressure, and at least one second valve arrangement designed to optionally connect or disconnect at least one second wheel brake associated with a second axle to or from an existing hydraulic pressure. The second functional unit comprises at least one second electrical brake pressure generator, by means of which a brake pressure can be generated on at least the at least one second wheel brake, and a second control system which is designed to control the at least one second electrical brake pressure generator for a brake pressure regulation on at least the at least one second wheel brake in the event of a failure of the first functional unit.
