The method may comprise playing back a first midi segment of a song, the first midi segment comprising a first midi sequence repeated a predetermined number of times, transitioning to a second midi segment of the song after the first midi sequence is repeated for the predetermined number of times unless a first foot-operable switch is triggered, receiving a first activation command during the playback of the first midi segment and in response to the first activation command, modifying the predetermined number of times the first midi sequence is to be repeated wherein the first activation command is triggered based on, at least in part, a duration and frequency of a user application of the first foot-operable switch.

    摘要: An electronic device may comprise audio processing circuitry, pace tracking circuitry, and positioning circuitry. The pace tracking circuitry may be operable to selects songs to be processed for playback, and/or control time stretching applied to such songs, by the audio processing circuitry based on position data generated by the positioning circuitry. The position data may indicate the pace of a runner during a preceding, determined time interval. The pace tracking circuitry may be operable to control the song selection and/or time stretching based on a runner profile data stored in memory of the music device. The profile data may comprise runner's distance-per-stride data. The electronic device may comprise one or more sensors operable to function as a pedometer. The pace tracking circuitry may be operable to update the distance-per-stride data based on the position data and based on data output by the one or more sensors.

    摘要: A multi-media entertainment device enabling a user to control sound/audio elements of a music or sound program while video is displayed and which is correlated to the played sound elements. The user interacts with triggers such as laser beams that can be interrupted by a player's fingers to play music. The video track is displayed, and the user controls the audio play of the sound track by interrupting the beams, each beam associated with a different instrument. This allows the user to play the multimedia device along with a displayed video performance, in synchronization with one or more musicians displayed on a display. The user's play may be scored as a function of the user's accuracy of engaging the triggers. For instance, a user can strum a trigger associated with a guitar program in unison with a guitarist on the display. The music created by the user interacting with multiple triggers is sympathetic and always synchronized to the video performance. If the user misses the timing of a note, the sound is not played. In another version, the user interacts by playing the triggers controlling sound elements associated with a displayed video game.

    摘要: A system and methods which allow even a novice performer to easily play music which is not disharmonious and which is pleasing to the performer and his or her audience. The music is preferably created by a performer breaking one or more beams of light, which are emitted by one or more beam emitters and received, or detected, by one or more beam detectors. When a beam detector determines that a beam has been broken, a trigger is sent to a synthesizer, with such synthesizer preferably being a computer interfaced to the beam detectors via a Universal Serial Bus connection. The synthesizer selects from one or more electronic sounds, based on a pre-programmed collection of sounds, and a sound generator, such as an amplifier and speakers, plays the sound.

    摘要: A data base includes a plurality of music data set specifying a plurality of sample musical pieces. Each sample musical piece is expressed and specified by either or both of melody characteristics or a melody itself with respect to the respective phrases on a phrase-by-phrase basis in a musical piece. The user inputs a melody fragment or melody characteristics for a particular phrase of a musical piece to be composed. The apparatus selects from the data base a musical piece including a phrase whose melody itself or melody characteristics is equal or similar to the melody fragment or melody characteristics as inputted by the user, and generates a melody fragment for the designated phrase to be included in a composed musical piece by utilizing the inputted melody fragment as it is or by generating a melody fragment based the melody or melody characteristics of the same phrase in the selected musical piece in the data base. Melody sections covering the remaining phrases are generated based on the melody data or the melody characteristics data of the remaining phrases included in the selected musical piece. The generated or utilized melody fragment for the particular phrase plus the generated melody sections for the remaining phrases in combination constitute an automatically composed musical piece product.

The apparatus includes foot-operated switches that control signals from an instrument input, a looper module, or a MIDI sequence. Selectors adjust parameters like tempo, volume, or attributes of main and fill MIDI sequences. A sequence of foot switch depressions governs signal behavior. Additional features include sequence analysis for activation commands, signal recording, and sequence transitions.
