摘要: An SDR CDF is constructed based on an SDR histogram generated from a distribution of SDR codewords in SDR images. An HDR CDF is constructed based on an HDR histogram generated from a distribution of HDR codewords in HDR images that correspond to the SDR images. A histogram transfer function is generated based on the SDR CDF and the HDR CDF. The SDR images are transmitted along with backward reshaping metadata to recipient devices. The backward reshaping metadata is generated at least in part on the histogram transfer function.

摘要: A method of decoding video data, including receiving an encoded block of video data that was encoded using an inter-prediction mode, receiving one or more syntax elements indicating a motion vector difference (MVD) associated with the encoded block of video data, determining a current MVD precision, from three or more MVD precisions, for the one or more syntax elements indicating the MVD, wherein the three or more MVD precisions include an N-sample MVD precision, where N is an integer indicating a number of samples indicated by each successive codeword of the one or more syntax elements indicating the MVD, and wherein N is greater than 1, decoding the one or more syntax elements indicating the MVD using the determined current MVD precision, and decoding the encoded block of video data using the decoded MVD.

摘要: Video foreground and background detection is performed on a received video sequence on a macroblock by macroblock basis using motion vector encoding information associated with each macroblock. Some of the macroblocks in each frame, for example, edge or corner macroblocks, may be exempt from the foreground and background detection. The detection information, along with the video data, is passed to an image stabilization algorithm that prepares the video for subsequent video compression.

摘要: A method and apparatus of line buffer reduction for context adaptive entropy processing are disclosed. The context formation for context adaptive entropy processing depends on block information associated with one or more neighboring blocks. When the neighboring block is on a different side of a region boundary from the current block, the block information is replaced by replacement block information to reduce or remove line buffer requirement for storing the block information of neighboring blocks on the other side of the region boundaries from the current block. The context adaptive entropy processing is CABAC encoding, CABAC decoding, CAVLC encoding, or CAVLC decoding.

A pixel texture encoding unit is configured to encode pixels colors of the image with an image representation comprising N-bit code words. An image analysis unit is configured to determine and output a region differentiator grey value, which is a luma value demarcating below it lumas of all pixels of a first object in at least one block of the image, and above it lumas of all pixels of a second object in the at least one block of the image. A formatter is configured to co-encode the image representation and the region differentiator grey value in an output image signal.

摘要: Rate control techniques are provided for encoding an input video sequence into a compressed coded bitstream with multiple coding passes. The final coding pass may comprise final splices with non-overlapping frames that do not extend into neighboring final splices. A final splice in the final coding pass may correspond to at least one non-final splice in a non-final coding pass. A non-final splice may have overlapping frames that extend into neighboring final splices in the final coding pass. The overlapping frames in the non-final splice may be used to derive complexity information about the neighboring final splices. The complexity information about the neighboring final splices, as derived from the overlapping frames, may be used to allocate or improve rate control related budgets in encoding the final splice into the compressed coded bitstream in the final coding pass.
