Abstract:
The present application provides a method for configuring a television audio format, a method for transparently transmitting audio and a television, where the method for configuring the television audio format includes: acquiring information regarding an audio format supported to be decoded by an external audio playing device; judging whether EDID information pre-stored in the television includes the information regarding the audio format supported to be decoded by the external audio playing device; if not, supplementing the EDID information with the information regarding the audio format supported to be decoded by the external audio playing device, where the supplemented EDID information is configured for a set top box connected to the television to determine whether to transparently transmit audio data or not based on the supplemented EDID information. The present application can avoid a loss in a tonal quality and improve a tonal quality effect of playing.
Abstract:
A video hosting service receives and processes a source video to generate an efficiently compressed media file. The source video is transcoded to an intermediate video and corresponding audio. The video hosting service selects a subset of video frames from the intermediate video as still images and identifies the timing information associated with each selected still image. The selection process may be dependent on information associated with the video such as a video classification. The video hosting service encodes the selected still images and the audio data of the source video, and generates a compressed media file for transmission to a client device. The compressed media file does not include motion data associated with the selected still images to reduce the size of the compressed media file. A client device receives the compressed media file and plays the still images and associated audio data.
Abstract:
Various arrangements for outputting a customized video mosaic are presented. Based on received user input, it may be determined that a customized video mosaic is to be output for presentation. A plurality of television channels to be presented as part of the customized video mosaic may be determined. One or more tuners may be tuned based on the determined plurality of television channels to be presented. The plurality of television channels may be output for presentation to a presentation device. Each of these television channels may be presented by the presentation device as live video simultaneously as part of the customized video mosaic.
Abstract:
A receiver device having a processor, memories, descrambler and decoders modules configured to produce a sequence of elementary media content packets. The receiver device further comprises a marker unit configured to mark data in the sequence of elementary media content packets according to a pattern defined by an internal parameter associated to the receiving device. The marker unit is configured to determine, in the sequence of elementary media content packets at least one segment of a predetermined length and starting at a predetermined position in the sequence, to divide the segment into a predetermined number of contiguous windows including data of all or part of at least one elementary media content packet. Each window in the segment defined in the sequence of elementary media content packets is indexed by an index defining a position of a window in the segment. The marker unit codes the internal parameter by applying a mathematical transformation function, obtaining a resulting bits string, calculates position indices of a predetermined number of windows on the basis of all or a portion of the resulting bits string, said predetermined number of windows being lower than the number of windows in the segment, and modifies data in the windows designated by the calculated position indices. The windows including modified data and the windows including original data from within the segment of elementary media content packets a unique pattern representing the internal parameter associated to the receiving device.
Abstract:
Techniques for preventing circumvention of digital rights management protections on electronic content are provided. A method according to these techniques includes receiving a content stream, obtaining samples from the content stream, generating a histogram based on the samples from the content stream, classifying the content stream as including audio content or non-audio content based on the histogram, and modifying portions of the content stream responsive to classifying the content stream as including non-audio content. The content stream can be modified such that any video content included in the content stream would be rendered unplayable, while audio content included in the content stream remains playable.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method, a device and storage medium for selecting a media device to play an audio file based on determined attributes of media devices. The selection process includes acquiring a first audio decoding parameter of a third party terminal externally connected to a split-type host, and a second audio decoding parameter of the split-type host. The selection process further includes selecting a device with a greater converting capability from the third party terminal and the split-type host according to the first audio decoding parameter and a second audio decoding parameter. The selected device then plays the audio by the selected device, wherein both the first and second audio decoding parameters include at least a scheme for audio decoding.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system for transmitting and receiving audio, particularly, to a method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving of object-based audio contents, which packetizes audio objects having the same characteristic. To achieve the above, the present invention includes filtering a plurality of ESs according to common information, adding a packet header to the respective filtered ESs and generate ES packets, aggregating all the generated ES packets and then adding a multi-object packet header to the aggregated ES packets to generate an object packet, and multiplexing the generated object packet, packetizing the multiplexed object packet according to a transmitting media and transmitting the packetized object packet.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods and systems for extracting digital content using an interactive television application. The interactive television application may allow the user to record programs on a set-top box. The interactive television application may also allow the user to extract the audio from one of the recorded programs and transfer the extracted audio to removable media (e.g., a CD-R). The interactive television application also be configured to perform a future transfer of digital content to removable media. The future transfer may occur without requiring any further user interaction.
Abstract:
A signal processing apparatus which processes a voice packet is provided. The signal processing apparatus includes: a network jitter measurer which estimates network jitter using a weighting of a network jitter variance according to a network state, a compression and output unit which compresses or outputs a voice frame based on the estimated network jitter, and a loss concealer which divides a voice packet loss into short-term loss concealment and long-term loss concealment, and performs loss concealment in a different way depending on whether the voice packet loss is the short-term loss concealment or the long-term loss concealment.
Abstract:
Systems and methods allow playback of a media stream received via a network. The media stream is received and stored in a buffer prior to playback. Responsive to receiving the user command to change the content of the media stream, the buffer is flushed prior to receiving the changed content in the media stream.
