Abstract: An endpoint group (EPG) can be stretched between the sites so that endpoints at different sites can be assigned to the same stretched EPG. Because the sites can use different bridge domains when establishing the stretched EPGs, the first time a site transmits a packet to an endpoint in a different site, the site learns or discovers a path to the destination endpoint. The site can use BGP to identify the site with the host and use a multicast tunnel to reach the site. A unicast tunnel can be used to transmit future packets to the destination endpoint. Additionally, a stretched EPG can be segmented to form a micro-stretched EPG. Filtering criteria can be used to identify a subset of the endpoints in the stretched EPG that are then assigned to the micro-stretched EPG, which can have different policies than the stretched EPG.

Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for improving convergence of Protocol Independent Multicast assert state information in multicast groups. A method includes forwarding, by a router, a PIM join message originating from a destination host and stores distribution tree information based on the join message. The method further includes participating, by the router, in a Protocol Independent Multicast (“PIM”) assert election among a plurality of routers and storing, by the router, PIM assert state information based on an outcome of the PIM assert election. The method further includes acquiring, by the router, routing information base (“RIB”) convergence. The method further includes triggering by the router, or causing, by the router, another router to trigger, a PIM assert among the plurality of routers. The method further includes re-converging, by the router, with PIM assert states among the plurality of routers and storing, by the router, converged PIM assert state information.

Abstract: At a provider edge (PE) router of PE routers of an Ethernet virtual private network (EVPN) configured to implement a border gateway protocol (BGP): receiving, from a multicast receiver, a multicast join for multicast traffic originated from a multicast source; identifying a next hop PE router for the multicast source; generating an EVPN route to the PE router, the EVPN route including an EVPN instance-route target that identifies the EVPN, and a specifically targeted route target that identifies the next hop PE router and that is configured to override the EVPN instance-route target to cause only the next hop PE router, and not any other of the PE routers, to import the EVPN route, when the EVPN route is advertised across the EVPN to the PE routers; and advertising the EVPN route across the EVPN to the PE routers.

Abstract: Systems and methods for InfiniBand fabric optimizations to minimize SA access and startup failover times. A system can comprise one or more microprocessors, a first subnet, the first subnet comprising a plurality of switches, a plurality of host channel adapters, a plurality of hosts, and a subnet manager, the subnet manager running on one of the one or more switches and the plurality of host channel adapters. The subnet manager can be configured to determine that the plurality of hosts and the plurality of switches support a same set of capabilities. On such determination, the subnet manager can configure an SMA flag, the flag indicating that a condition can be set for each of the host channel adapter ports.

Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for redacting mirrored network packets prior to providing the mirrored packets to an intended recipient application, such as a third-party analysis application. More specifically, a multi-destination packet redaction device obtains mirrored network traffic that comprises one or more mirrored network packets. The multi-destination packet redaction device filters the mirrored network traffic to determine an intended recipient application of the one or more mirrored network packets and applies a redaction process to redact one or more portions of at least one of the one or more mirrored network packets. The redaction process is customized based on one or more attributes of the intended recipient application.

Abstract: The techniques describe example network systems providing core-facing designated forwarder (DF) election to forward multicast traffic into an EVPN of a core network. For example, a first PE device of a plurality of PE devices participating in an EVPN comprises one or more processors operably coupled to a memory, wherein the one or more processors are configured to: determine that a first multicast traffic flow has started for the first PE device; in response, send a source-active (SA) route to indicate the first multicast traffic flow has started for the first PE device; receive, from a second PE device, a second SA route that indicates that a second multicast traffic flow has started for the second PE device; and perform an election of a core-facing DF from among the first PE device and second PE device, wherein the core-facing DF is configured to forward the multicast traffic into the EVPN.
