Abstract:
A conductive resin coated steel pipe and an extrusion molding method for the steel pipe capable of using filler instead of carbon black and not only lowering a production cost but also further increasing an attractiveness; the resin coated steel pipe, wherein a regenerated resin (3) such as polyethylene, ABS, AAS, and the outer peripheral surface of a thin-walled steel pipe (2) is coated with polypropylene, and a conductive resin (4) such as polyethylene, ABS, AAS, and polypropylene mixed with filler on the outer peripheral surface of the coated resin (3) is axially uniformized in cross section by a double coated structure where the portion (4b) thereof having a wall thickness and a width necessary for developing the conductivity thereof are provided at one or more positions in the circumferential direction of a pipe body and the entire outer peripheral surface thereof is coated thinly with the resin.
Abstract:
The intermittent coating apparatus which includes a nozzle 1 which applies a paint 6 to a base material, a feeding side two-way valve 10 which repeats feeding of the paint 6 to the nozzle 1 and stop of the feeding, a return side two-way valve which 11 repeats discharge of the paint 6 to a return side and stop of the discharge, a paint flow path 12, means to feed the paint 6 into the flow path 12, and paint returning means 5 which repeats suction and return of the paint 6 out of and into the nozzle 1, and is characterized in that switching of the feeding side two-way valve 10 is carried out earlier than that of the return side two-way valve 11 within a range not shorter than 5 msec and not longer than 100 msec at least at a coating start time.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing a tool, and a tool which can be used to create optically active surface structures in the sub-nullm range. Said tool comprises a support surface to which surface structures are applied by depositing material, said surface structures being raised in relation to the support surface. The invention is characterised in that the support surface is in-directly bonded with a mask (2) in which openings (3) having diameters in the sub-nullm range are provided or can be placed; the support surface and the mask are subjected to a coating process during which coating material is deposited onto the support surface via the openings (3) in the mask; the mask is removed from the support surface when a partial amount of the average height of the end structure pertaining to the surface structures is obtained; and the coating process is continued without a mask and with similar or different coating material.
Abstract:
A method for the patterned deposition of a material comprises the steps of dissolving or suspending said material in a solvent phase comprising compressed carbon dioxide, and depositing the solution or suspension onto a surface, evaporation of the solvent phase leaving a patterned deposit of said material. This method is particularly suitable for the patterned deposition of polymers and small organic molecules in organic light emitting diodes and organic transistors.
Abstract:
A thin-walled honeycomb structure includes: a circumferential wall, numerous partition walls disposed inside the circumferential wall, and numerous cell passages defined by the partition walls. A circumferential portion of the honeycomb structure is reinforced wholly or in a part within a certain distance from an extremity surface of the honeycomb structure by a reinforcing material that dissipates or evaporates at a high temperature, and a method for producing the same.
Abstract:
This invention relates to rapid curing coating compositions that are particularly useful for automotive OEM and refinish applications. The coating composition includes a binder component that contains a novel highly branched copolyester polyol, and a crosslinking component that contains conventional crosslinking agents, such as polyisocyanate and melamine. This invention is also directed to a process for producing coatings from the rapid curing coating compositions. These compositions are especially useful in providing for mar resistant and flexible coatings.
Abstract:
A photo-resist composition is disclosed that is a partial esterification product of a styrene maleic anhydride copolymer with (meth)acrylate and hydroxyl containing side chains. An amide containing (meth)acrylate is optionally present. These compositions exhibit a good balance between UV cure rate, tack free properties, and dissolution of uncured composition by dilute alkaline solution.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for spatter painting wherein an open-loop paint applicator which can be a paint roller cover having a set of elongated interconnected members or fibers that are rolled in a shallow layer of paint, preferably a thixotropic paint, to randomly draw paint from the paint reservoirs onto peripheral portions of the open-loop members that extend into the paint reservoir to produce a partially loaded paint roller cover having randomly spaced globules and droplets of paint thereon. When the partially loaded paint roller cover is rolled over a surface the paint globules and droplets located in a random pattern on the paint roller cover are transferred to a surface to produce a nullspatter effectnull even though the paint roller cover normally produces a textured surface.
Abstract:
One aspect of the present invention relates to a method of creating patterned composite structures on a surface via layer-by-layer deposition of thin films. In certain embodiments, the surface is chemically patterned by the direct stamping of functional polymers on the surface film. A pattern may then be used as a template for the further depositions of materials on the surface. This concept may be applied to various functional polymer and substrate systems as well as various thin film deposition techniques.
