Abstract: A process for purification of phytosterols, said process comprising, a. providing a liquid mixture comprising a phytosterol, lower alcohol, wherein the lower alcohol is present in an amount of from 25 to 800% by weight, based on the amount of phytosterol; b. cooling the mixture to form phytosterol crystals, wherein the crystals are formed at a temperature of from of from 10° C. to 75° C., preferably 15° C. to 50° C., more preferably 20° C. to 45° C., even more preferably 25° C. to 35° C. c. separating the phytosterol crystals from the remainder of the mixture by filtration; d. subjecting the phytosterol crystals to washing with a solvent system comprising at least one polar aprotic solvent to obtain purified phytosterol; e. optionally repeating step (d); f. drying the washed phytosterol crystals; g. optionally melting and drying in molted state to remove traces of remaining solvent; and h. optionally subjecting to a particle-forming process to obtain solid sterol particles.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides modified, transgenic, or genome edited/mutated corn plants that are semi-dwarf and have one or more improved ear traits relative to a control plant, such as increase in ear area, ear diameter, ear length, green leaf number below ear, yield, single kernel weight, and/or ear fresh weight, and decrease in ear tip void. The modified, transgenic, or genome edited/mutated corn plants comprise a transgene encoding one or more proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) polypeptide and have a reduced expression of one or more GA20 or GA3 oxidase genes. Also provided are methods for producing the modified, transgenic, or genome edited/mutated corn plants.

Abstract: A four-way conversion catalyst for treating a gasoline engine exhaust gas has a porous wall flow filter substrate with an inlet end, outlet end, substrate axial length extending between the inlet and outlet end, and passages defined by porous internal walls of the substrate, the passages having inlet passages with an open inlet and closed outlet, and outlet passages having a closed inlet and open outlet. The internal wall pores have a three-way conversion catalytic in-wall coating with an oxygen storage compound and a platinum group metal supported on a refractory metal oxide. On at least a portion of the internal wall surface defining the interface between the internal walls and the passages, the catalyst has a porous on-wall coating from the internal wall surface to the passage. The coating has porous oxidic compound and platinum group metal content of 0 to 0.001 wt. %, of the total coating weight.
