The valve has a flexible diaphragm having a clamped diameter and a pocket in the diaphragm supports a valve plate. The valve plate operatively cooperates with a valve seat of the valve and has an annular recess arranged to receive a spring to center the valve plate. The valve also includes a stationary thrust plate which is concentrically disposed relative to the valve seat, which defines a knife-shaped edge which lies in a common plane with the valve seat and which operatively cooperates with the valve plate. The knife-shaped edge is penetrated by a plurality of radially extending means defining openings therein.

The fuel metering and quantity distribution valve has a control slide member which is controlled in its displacement by the air measuring member. The control slide member controls the fuel metered to the engine. The fuel metering and quantity distribution valve has a first differential pressure valve associated therewith which maintains the pressure difference between the fuel pressure prevailing upstream and downstream of the fuel metering location constant during injection. A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines is proposed which serves the purpose of fuel injection into the air intake tube of the engine. The fuel injection system includes a fuel injection valve, which is supported upstream of a throttle valve in a holder body disposed coaxially in the air intake tube. A fuel supply line leads to the fuel injection valve, extending in a downwardly directed manner toward the fuel injection valve and away from a deaeration chamber. A fuel return line leads away from the fuel injection valve, extending in an upwardly inclined direction to discharge into the regulating chamber, disposed at a higher level, of a pressure regulating valve. A fuel feed line originating at a fuel supply pump terminates in an upwardly directed manner into the dearation chamber, which communicates via a dearation nozzle with the regulating chamber, so that vapor bubbles can escape upstream of the injection valve into the return side of the injection valve.

The receiving bore of the receptacle extends outside the flowthrough cross section of the fuel supply line. The device includes an actuation member comprising an immersion-coil magnet system which engages an actuation shaft with which a first valve member and a second valve member are connected. The coaxial guidance of the actuation shaft in the valve housing is effected by means of two guide diaphragms held in place relative to one another by attachment to the housing on their circumference. The valve members are identical in shape and each cooperates with a valve seat provided in a valve plate in the identical direction. The air flow may be effected via inlet apertures provided in the tubular section of the valve housing exhausting via the opened valve seats to outlet apertures in the cap.

The fuel injection apparatus comprises an intake pipe in which an air flow meter and a throttle valve are provided. The fuel quantity injected into the intake pipe via an injection valve is controlled by the air flow meter. To prepare the combustible mixture of injected fuel and air, a preparation air line branches off from the intake pipe between the air flow meter and the throttle valve. This preparation air line discharges into the injection valve. A throttle is provided in the preparation air line. A full-load air line discharges into the preparation air line between the throttle and injection valve. A shut-off valve is provided in the full-load air line, said shut-off valve being completely open at least during the full-load operation of the combustion engine, allowing additional air flow into the preparation air line, which air is drawn from the intake pipe upstream of the air flow meter.

A fuel injection valve is proposed which, especially in low-fuel-pressure systems, serves to inject fuel into the intake tube of a mixture-compressing internal combustion engine with externally supplied ignition. The fuel injection valve includes a fixed valve seat cooperating with a movable valve element, downstream of which the fuel to be injected is carried into a mixture guidance channel of a mixture guidance tube and surrounded on all sides with air or exhaust gas for preparation immediately upon its entrance into the mixture guidance channel and injected via an injection opening into the intake tube. The mixture guidance channel may be embodied as tapering in conical fashion toward the injection opening. For the purpose of preliminary preparation of the fuel, secondary air or exhaust gas can already be delivered to the fuel before its entrance into the mixture guidance channel. The fuel injection valve embodied according to the invention assures optimal preparation of the fuel to be injected, even at low fuel pressures, and good running behavior of the engine in the event of abrupt changes in load.

A fuel injection system is proposed which brings about an improvement in the acceleration behavior of an internal combustion engine. The fuel injection system includes metering valves actuatable by means of an air flow measuring device, at which valves a pressure difference can be held constant via control valves and the pressure difference is variable in accordance with operational characteristics of the engine. To this end, the control valves are located on a control pressure line in which a control throttle and an electromagnetic valve are disposed. At the same time, pressure limitation elements communicate with the control pressure line and, in the event of acceleration of the engine, reduce the extent of increase of control pressure and thus assure fuel metering corresponding with the operational state of the engine.
