    摘要: An apparatus for detecting a malfunction in an evaporated fuel purge system, includes a diagnosis control valve provided in an air inlet passage connecting an air inlet of a canister to the atmosphere, a pressure sensor provided at an intermediate portion of a vapor passage between a fuel tank and a purge control valve for sensing a pressure in the vapor passage, and a control part for controlling opening and closing operations of both the purge control valve and the diagnosis control valve. In this apparatus, the purge control valve is opened and the diagnosis control valve is closed by the control part under a predetermined operating condition of an engine, the purge control valve being closed after the vapor passage is subjected to a negative pressure in an intake passage of the engine, the negative pressure being maintained during a predetermined time period, the apparatus thus detecting whether or not a malfunction has occurred in the system, in response to a difference between pressures sensed by the pressure sensor respectively at a beginning of the predetermined time period and at an end thereof.

    摘要: A malfunction detecting apparatus for an evaporated fuel purge system includes a first control valve for controlling a flow of fuel vapor in a purge passage between a canister and an intake passage, a second control valve for controlling a flow of air from the atmosphere to the canister via an air inlet opening of the canister, a first control part for turning OFF the second control valve and for turning ON the first control valve during a first time period, so as to subject the purge passage, the canister, and a vapor passage to a negative pressure of the intake passage during the first time period, and a first discriminator for detecting whether or not a malfunction has occurred in the system, in accordance with a pressure change rate derived from pressures of the system sensed at a start of the first time period and at an end thereof. The apparatus further includes a second control part for detecting whether or not a pressure of the system reaches a prescribed negative pressure after it is detected that no malfunction has occurred in the system, and for turning OFF the first and second control valves during a second time period after the prescribed negative pressure is reached, and a second discriminator for detecting whether or not a malfunction has occurred in the system, in accordance with a pressure change rate derived from pressures of the system sensed at a start of the second time period and at an end thereof.

    摘要: An apparatus for detecting imbalance abnormality in an air-fuel ratio between cylinders in a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine comprises a turbocharger, a bypass passage, a waist gate valve, an air-fuel ratio sensor, and a stepless transmission. The imbalance abnormality is detected based upon a variation degree in output of the air-fuel ratio sensor. The internal combustion engine and the stepless transmission are controlled in such a manner that an actual operating point of the internal combustion engine moves on a predetermined operating line in a coordinate system defined by an engine rotational speed and engine torque. The operating line is changed in such a manner that, when the actual operating point is outside of a waist gate valve opening region at the time of detecting the imbalance abnormality, the actual operating point moves into the waist gate valve opening region.

    摘要: An onboard load control apparatus and a method for detecting a fault of an onboard electrical load with high accuracy are disclosed. The control apparatus comprises an onboard battery mounted on an automotive vehicle, an electrical heater for electrically heating an electrical load such as an electrically-heated catalyst supplied with power from the onboard battery, an auxiliary relay for turning on/off the power to the electrical heater from the onboard battery, and an ECU for controlling the on/off operation of the auxiliary relay. The apparatus further comprises an engine speed detector for detecting the engine speed of the internal combustion engine and a fault judgement unit for judging whether the electrical heater is normal or faulty on the basis of the fluctuation amount of the engine speed of the internal combustion engine detected by the engine speed detector before and after switching the auxiliary relay. A fault of the electrical load is judged by detecting the voltage across the onboard battery while taking the fluctuation amount of the same voltage into consideration. The apparatus further comprises a load condition holder for holding the load condition of a specific load while the engine speed or the battery voltage is detected.
