摘要: Broad spectrum antibiotics are provided which are compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein -W-R is a residue of a nucleophilic compound and R.sup.5 is hydroxyl or protected hydroxyl, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or 4-carboxy ester which is the alkoxymethyl, .alpha.-alkoxyethyl, .alpha.-alkoxy-.alpha.-substituted methyl, alkylthiomethyl, acyloxymethyl or .alpha.-acyloxy-.alpha.-substituted methyl ester thereof.

摘要: A data memory system includes a plurality of buffer regions each having a constant size so that serial data may be stored by linking the buffer regions. A descripter provided to correspond to each of the buffer regions includes memory region addressing information indicating the head address of the corresponding buffer region, data delimiting information indicating whether or not the data to be stored is terminated in the corresponding buffer region, and chain information indicating the head address of a next subsequent descripter.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a semiconductor integrated circuit device of the bipolar type of the MOS type or an integration of the two types having high integration and high performance, in which the circuit includes a first device region of which the side surface and entire region of the lower portion of the active region are made of silicon oxide and a second device region of which the side surface and a part of the lower portion of the active region are made of silicon oxide. According to the present invention, a transistor whose bottom portion is opened and a transistor whose bottom portion is not opened can be freely provided on a substrate, thereby dividing the transistors into a transistor to which a voltage can be supplied from the substrate and a transistor to which the voltage can not be supplied from the substrate, so that the wiring which has been conventionally needed can be reduced. In addition, in such transistors which are completely separated, the parasitic effect with the circumference is completely prevented so that excellent characteristics can be provided.

摘要: Novel cephem compounds of the formula; ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents amino or hydroxyl group which may be protected, R.sup.2 represents amino or hydroxyl group or a group convertible into these groups, R.sup.3 represents hydrogen or methoxy group or a group convertible into methoxy group, R.sup.4 represents hydrogen or a residue of a nucleophilic compound and R.sup.8 represents hydrogen or a halogen, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof, have strong antibiotic properties against a wide variety of microorganisms including gram-positive bacteria as well as gram-negative ones, especially by oral administration and can be used as therapeutic agent for various bacterial infections of animals including human beings.Also disclosed are novel thiazolylacetic acid compounds of the formula: ##STR2## wherein R.sup.1 represents amino, protected amino, hydroxyl or protected hydroxyl, R.sup.2 represents amino, protected amino, hydroxyl, protected hydroxyl or the group ##STR3## represents a group of the formula ##STR4## wherein R.sup.5 represents hydroxyl or lower alkoxy and R.sup.8 represents hydrogen or a halogen, or a salt, an ester or a reactive derivative thereof, and to processed for preparing these compounds. These latter compounds are useful as intermediates in the preparation of the novel cephem compounds.

摘要: A cell/packet assembly and disassembly apparatus is provided for efficiently connecting a line in a line switching system to an ATM network or a packet network, without causing congestion, to transmit and receive cells or packets therebetween. The cell/packet assembly and disassembly apparatus, upon detecting a call setting request outputted from a line switch board in response to a call originated from a terminal, starts cell assembly and cell disassembly of user information transmitted and received between a channel on a line in the line switching system corresponding to the call setting request and a virtual channel on the ATM network assigned to the channel. Also, when detecting a call setting request outputted from a predetermined virtual channel in the ATM network, the packet or cell assembly and disassembly apparatus starts cell assembly and cell disassembly of user information transmitted and received between the virtual channel on the ATM network corresponding to this call setting request and a channel on a line in the channel switching system assigned to the virtual channel.

摘要: An ATM switch capable of preventing the network resource from being wasted during the occurrence of an overcrowding condition. In the ATM switch, both a message type and a processing mode are stored in correspondence to the connections. When the discarding of a cell occurs, the connection to which the discarded cell belongs is set to a discard mode by a cell discard controlling circuit, and each cell constituting the same message as that of the discarded cell out of the subsequent cells is discarded, and when a demarkation of the message has been detected, the processing mode is returned to a transfer mode, whereby the subsequent received cells are transferred in a normal manner. Thus, the cell which has become useless for a reception terminal is discarded in the network.

摘要: Information of a plurality of operation modes is stored in memory. Information of temporary protocols and true protocols is associated with event numbers and processing state numbers, then stored in a status transition table circuit. When an event number and a processing state number are set in an input register, a CPU selects a temporary protocol according to the event number and processing state number. Then, the CPU retrieves an operation mode associated with the temporary protocol from memory, selects a true protocol according to the retrieved operation mode, then executes information processing according to the true protocol.

摘要: In a network system in which an interconnection is achieved between an LAN terminal connected to an LAN and an ISDN terminal linked with an ISDN via at least an LAN/ISDN inter-working unit coupling the LAN with the ISDN, the ISDN terminal develops a function to multiplex data link connections (communication paths) identified with respective data link connection identifiers (DLCIs) on ISDN channels. After conducting a call establishment to the ISDN terminal, the inter-working unit supplies the LAN terminal with an ISDN channel number and a DLCI designating an ISDN communication path. Thereafter, the LAN terminal sends an LAN frame having an OSI layer 2 header loaded with the communication path information to the inter-working unit. On receiving the LAN frame, the inter-working unit executes a format conversion to convert the LAN frame into an ISDN frame based on the ISDN communication path information.
