摘要： A laminate structure for making a cushioned component for a vehicle interior, such as a seat cushion or head rest, has a high density foam bonded to an interior surface of a seat cover material. After the laminate structure is formed into a desired shape for the cushioned component, it is inserted into a vacuum mold having a mold surface with a shape corresponding with a desired exterior surface shape of the cushioned component. Liquid foam-forming material is injected into the laminate structure within the mold and allowed to cure to form the cushioned component. The high density foam of the laminate structure preferably has a density of at least 4 lbs/ft3 and an air permeability of 5 to 100 ft3/ft2 minute. This high density foam may be created by felting a polyurethane foam.

摘要： A simplified pressure sealing apparatus for acting on business forms having pressure activated cohesive to seal the cohesive has only two or three pressure-seal rollers for effecting proper sealing. The pressure seal rollers may receive a folded business form substantially immediately from the output of a folder, or one of the pressure-seal rollers may function to both assist in folding the form, and then pressure sealing it. The form may be held in a flip plate above the nip between first and second pressure-seal rollers, or a separate set of idler nip wheels may hold the form in position once it has passed completely through the sealing nip. In either case the form may pass completely through the sealing nip yet be moved through the sealing nip in the opposite direction, and then diverted to a stack.

摘要： A passive solar system for temperature control of the air inside homes and other buildings, comprising a pool of water to receive, store and dispense energy from direct sunlight passing through a glass wall, to strike the surface of the water in the pool. The pool has open connecting passage under its bottom and vertically along one of its sides, to form a convective conduit in which cold air is heated by the stored heat of the pool. Adjustable passages are placed through interior walls for convective flow of the pool-heated air into all desired parts of the building. The glass wall is advantageously placed for maximum incidence of heating sunlight upon the pool in winter, and maximum shading of the pool in the summer. A retractable eave may be provided to enhance these effects. During summer days, the pool serves as a heat sink, cooling the interior air. During summer nights, cooler outside air is admitted to the building to displace the warm air through ceiling and attic vents, cooling the building air, as well as the pool for the next day's use.

摘要： Apparatus for conveying a blood sample through a flow cell which measures characteristics such as pH, PCO.sub.2, and PO.sub.2 of the sample and for pumping a wash solution through the cell between samples. The flow cell inlet is selectively connected (1) to a sample-filled syringe for driving sample through the flow cell or (2) to a reservoir of the wash solution. The flow cell outlet is connected by a conduit to a waste receptacle. A rotor of a combined peristaltic pump and valve coacts with an elastomeric tubular section of the conduit. The rotor and the elastomeric section are movable in a transverse direction relative to each other between (1) a first or pumping position wherein the rotor compressively engages the section for pumping fluid wash solution through the cell and the conduit and (2) a second or relaxed position wherein the rotor is released from the section to provide an open unrestricted channel for the flow of sample driven by the syringe through the cell.

摘要： A SLM-based projection display system (10) samples and processes video data for delivery to a spatial light modulator (SLM) (13c), and uses a color wheel (14a) to color the SLM-generated images. A frame memory (13b) provides data to the SLM (13c) and is managed so that, if the phase of the incoming video signal changes, a desired phase relationship between the color wheel position and the data available to the SLM (13c) can be maintained. Also, a motor control unit (15a) uses a horizontal sync signal to generate a drive signal for the color wheel motor (16a), which limits the transient time during phase-changing events, and which provides a means for adjusting the phase of the drive signal.

The video signal is separated into separate video signals by composite video interface and separation circuit (16). The separate video signals are converted to digital video signals in analog to digital converter circuit (18). Line slicer (14) divides each line of digital video signal into a plurality of channels such that each channel may be processed in parallel by channel signal processors (22a) through (22d). Each channel signal processor (22a) through (22d) may provide two lines of output for each line of video input. The processed digital video signals may be formatted for displays (26a) through (26c) in formatters (24a) through (24c).
