摘要: In a SOHC type internal combustion engine having a single camshaft, a fuel injector is provided for directly injecting a fuel into a combustion chamber, and an intake port is provided such that one end of the intake port is open at intake openings to the combustion chamber. The intake port extends toward the top face of a cylinder head between the camshaft and two intake valves, such that at least a part of the intake port passes through a region between the shortest lines connecting respective head portions of the intake valves and the camshaft.

摘要: A valve operating apparatus, which transmits the rotation of the crankshaft of an automotive engine to the intake and exhaust valves to open and close the valves, can selectively vary the timing to open and close the valves and ther lifts of the valves. The valve operating apparatus includes a camshaft with low- and high-speed cams and low- and high-speed rocker arms, one of which is fixed to and the other rotatably supported on a rocker shaft. The valves can be opened and closed by the low-speed rocker arm. The other rocker arm and the rocker shaft can be engaged and disengaged by an engaging mechanism that is actuated by an actuating mechanism depending on the operating condition of the engine.

摘要: A variable valve device of the invention has a structure in which, as connecting means for connecting a movable cam 22 located in an outer periphery of an outer camshaft 17a and an inner camshaft 17b located inside the outer camshaft 17a, there are provided a pin-like member 24 that is movably inserted so as to penetrate the movable cam 22, the outer camshaft 17a and the inner camshaft 17b along a diametrical direction of a shaft member 17 that is formed by turnably encasing the inner camshaft 17b in the outer camshaft 17a, and an escape-preventing portion 50 disposed in the end portion of the pin-like member 24. The movable cam 22 and the inner camshaft 17b are thus connected together while preventing large press-fit load and axial force from acting on components.

摘要: An internal combustion engine includes: a variable valve train mechanism, configured to receive a cam displacement of an inlet cam so as to vary a driving output for driving an inlet valve continuously from a maximum valve lift to a minimum valve lift so as to match the driving output with a running condition of the internal combustion engine; and a control part, configured to control the variable valve train mechanism so as to set a valve lift of the inlet valve to a starter valve lift when starting the internal combustion engine in a cold state. The starter valve lift is formed so that a valve opening period of the inlet valve is set to encompass an overall area of an induction stroke period of the internal combustion engine from a top dead center to a bottom dead center of the induction stroke period.
