摘要: A pool, which is configured by multiple actual areas, is formed on the basis of two or more storage devices. A second storage control apparatus (DKC) determines, for each storage device, an unused capacity to be given to a first DKC with respect to each first DKC based on an unused capacity of each storage device and a request value of each storage device for each first DKC, and gives, for each first DKC, the unused capacity for each storage device determined with respect to the first DKC, to this first DKC. The request value of the storage device is based on a performance value, which is a value related to the performance of this storage device. The total capacity of multiple actual areas allocated to the virtual volumes by the first DKC is equal to or less than the unused capacity given with respect to each storage device.

摘要: A compact non-reciprocal circuit device capable of handling a high power without impairment of the characteristics. The non-reciprocal circuit device contains a magnetic substrate that exhibits anisotropic behavior by application of a direct-current magnetic field. On the surface of the substrate, strip-lines are disposed at an angle, being insulated with each other. One end of each strip-line is grounded, and the other end of each is connected through a capacitor to a ground. Of the ends connecting the capacitors, one end connects to a termination resistor; the remaining ends connect each to an input terminal and an output terminal. The non-reciprocal circuit device exhibits non-reciprocal characteristics between the input and output terminals. The case of the device contains an insulating thermal conductor that serves as a heat-radiator for the termination resistor and the strip-lines.

摘要: In an image forming apparatus, a fixing device for fixing a toner image on a paper has an oil applying member for applying oil to a heat roller, and an impurity fixing member for fixing the impurities, including toner and paper dust, to the cleaning member. The impurities transferred from the applying member to the cleaning member are fixed to the cleaning member. As a result, the applying member suffers from a minimum of contamination and can be cleaned when contaminated. This obviates the reverse transfer of the contamination from the applying roller to the heat roller which would lower image quality.

摘要: A method for making a separator material which is useful as a separator for storage batteries. The method involves applying a sulfonated surface layer to polyolefin resin fibers which form a woven or non-woven fabric. According to one embodiment, polyolefin resin fibers made of a first polyolefin resin are coated with a surface layer of a second polyolefin resin which is more susceptible to sulfonation than the first polyolefin resin from which said fibers are made. At the stage when the polyolefin fibers are coated with the second polyolefin resin they may be either individual fibers or formed into a woven or non-woven fabric. Thereafter, the fibers are subjected to a sulfonation process until the surface layer is sulfonated and a decomposition product formed by the sulfonation process is then removed from the fibers to obtain a separator material.
