Abstract:
The sifting device consists of a chamber with an opening for feeding pulp to be sifted; a cylinder plate installed in the chamber so that it can be rotated around its axis; at least one fixed sieve cleaner with an outlet pipe open toward the sieve surface for removing reject pulp, a lower pressure prevailing in the outlet pipe than on the sieve surface; a detachment organ for reject installed in connection with the outlet pipe; and a blocking piece on the side opposite to the open part of the outlet pipe.
Abstract:
In the management of a facility pumping water from a natural environment containing impurities, the facility makes use of at least one rotary filter purifying the pumped water while some impurities at least partially clog the rotary filter. In particular, provision is made for estimating an evolution over time of a pressure loss caused by impurities clogging the rotary filter, based at least on data relating to the natural environment, dimensions of the rotary filter, and local measurements relating to at least one water level Namont upstream of the filter and to a flow rate of water Qaspiré drawn in downstream of the filter. Such an estimate of the evolution over time of the pressure loss makes it possible to anticipate possible risks of insufficient water supply to the pumping system (POM) downstream of the filter (FIL), or even to design filters (FIL) adapted to the needs of specific pumping facilities.

A laundry treating machine is provided. The laundry treating machine may include a tub to receive wash water, a drum rotatably provided in the tub, an air supply device to supply air to the tub, a lint filter to filter lint from the air circulated by the air supply device, a filter cleaning device to supply cleaning water to the lint filter to remove the lint from the lint filter, and a cooling water supply device to supply cooling water to an inner surface of the tub such that moisture contained in air is condensed at the inner surface of the tub.
Abstract:
A capture unit for use with an antimicrobial application unit may include an upstream filter and a downstream filter. The upstream filter may be positioned to receive effluent from the application unit and to filter solid components from the effluent. The resultant upstream effluent filtrate may then be passed downstream to the downstream filter. The downstream filter may be used to filter an antimicrobial component from the upstream effluent filtrate and the resultant downstream effluent filtrate may be suitable for disposal as wastewater discharge. The antimicrobial is preferably a quaternary ammonium compound, is more preferably an alkylpyridinium chloride, and is most preferably cetylpyridinium chloride.
Abstract:
To reduce the size, scale of construction, and running cost of an apparatus for cleaning a sand filtration layer. A cleaning system which removes clogging sediments from a sand filtration layer 2, used with an apparatus for an infiltration intake of seawater which performs a seawater intake, by means of a water intake pipe 4 buried in the supporting gravel layer 3, after the seawater has been infiltrated through the sand filtration layer 2 and a supporting gravel layer 3 on an ocean floor. This cleaning system is provided with a diffuser pipe 7 having blow holes 6, and which is buried in the supporting gravel layer 3, as well as a compressed air delivery device 8 for feeding an air into the diffuser pipe 7. The system operates by blowing the air from the blow holes 6 to agitate the filtration sand of the sand filtration layer 2, to remove the sediments which have become trapped in or accumulated on the sand filtration layer 2. The system can achieve a smaller size, a smaller scale of construction, and a lower running cost than a conventional system which injects fresh water or seawater into the sand filtration layer.
Abstract:
A rotary disc filter is provided with a system for inhibiting biological fouling from biological growth on filters that form a part of the rotary disc filter. A biocide is pumped from a biocide supply tank to a manifold and mixed with a backwash to form a backwash-biocide solution. The backwash-biocide solution is sprayed onto filter media during a backwashing operation and the presence of the biocide inhibits and eliminates biological growth on the filter media.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for filtering a liquid from a liquid/solid mixture using a centrifuge. The centrifuge has a conveyor having a hub and a flight for imparting a centrifugal motion to the liquid/solid mixture. The conveyor is rotated for imparting the centrifugal motion. A filter is carried in the tank which holds the conveyor. The filter encircles the conveyor for filtering the liquid from the liquid/solid mixture. A backwash system has a tube having a series of nozzles positioned for spraying a fluid at the filter in a narrow band which circumscribes the filter. The tubing is connected to a header which projects out of the casing through an opening. The fluid sprayed through the nozzles is pumped through the header to the tubing having the nozzles. A cylinder is connected to the header for moving the header and the connected tubing longitudinally such that the nozzles move longitudinally along the filter for spraying the liquid against the filter in a narrow band distinct from a first narrow band by the relative movement of the nozzles to the filter. The fluid from the backwash system is at a force to counteract the centrifugal force of the mixture over the narrow band of the filter engaged by the spray. The fluid used for the backwash is the filtered liquid.
