Abstract:
Disclosed are an apparatus having sliding parts and a compound for preventing diffusion or separation of a base oil; and a compound for preventing diffusion or separation of the base oil used for the apparatus: an electronic or electric appliance using a joul heat generating source, means for taking out joul heat to the outside by sliding with said heat generating source, and heat conducting compound intervenient between said heat taking out means and heat generating source; and the heat conducting compound used for the appliance.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electrorheological liquid Which consists of an organic polymer as the polarizable disperse phase, an electrically non-conductive, non-aqueous continuous phase and a dispersing agent, and in which the disperse organic polymer has an average particle diameter of between 0.2 and 30 .mu.m and a relative half width value of the particle diameter distribution of below 0.8.
Abstract:
A squeeze casting powdery mold releasing agent according to this invention consists of a granulated or powdery mixture of a lubricant, an organic polymer and a metal soap; wherein the lubricant is coated with the organic polymer or the metal soap. Therefore, the mold releasing agent allows productions of castings of high quality, in a squeeze casting work, with good workability and without worsening environmental situations.
Abstract:
Disclosed are electrorheological fluids including vermiculite treated with an amine salt, methods of making the same, propylene carbonate adsorbed on the solid phase, butyl benzoate added for the liquid phase, and methods of using frequency response of electrorheological fluids to vary apparent viscosity and to compensate for temperature.
Abstract:
Silicone grease compositions are prepared by blending a thickening agent with a liquified crosslinked organosiloxane gel produced using a platinum-catalyzed hydrosilylation reaction. The gel is liquified by application of a shearing force to the crosslinked gel. The shearing force can be applied prior to and/or during blending of the gel with the thickener.
Abstract:
Thermo-oxidatively stable polysiloxanes are prepared by adding certain zirconium compounds to the fluid. These zirconium compounds are of the organozirconium or siloxyzirconium types. Two methods for preparation of the fluids is discussed. The fluids of this invention are useful as heat transfer fluids, lubricants, or damping fluids. They have particular usefulness in applications that have a low surface area to volume ratio.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A solid film lubricant composition for hot glass contacting surfaces of glass handling equipment and metal molds used in manufacturing glass articles. The solid film lubricant composition is a solution of a solvent, graphite, a solvent-soluble, further curable organopolysiloxane, and NaOH to make the solution alkaline. The solution is easily sprayed on hot glass contacting surfaces such as the interior of the molds to form a coating that is curable at room temperature.
Abstract:
An electro-rheological fluid comprising a hydrophilic solid and a hydrophobic liquid component wherein the hydrophobic liquid component comprises a fluorosilicone whose average molecular weight is in the range 200-700.
Abstract:
The present invention is a fluid which exhibits excellent electrorheological properties at low current densities, at high temperatures, and in the complete absence of absorbed water or water of hydration. In a preferred embodiment, the fluid comprises lithium hydrazinium sulfate dispersed in silicone oil, and in the presence of an appropriate suspension stabilizing agent.
