Abstract:
A structure of a horizontal type cylindrical double-shell tank mounted on a ship includes: an inner shell storing liquefied gas; and an outer shell forming a vacuum space between the inner shell and the outer shell. A pair of support units supporting the inner shell is disposed between the inner shell and the outer shell. Each support unit includes: a plurality of cylindrical elements arranged in a circumferential direction of the tank such that an axial direction of each of the cylindrical elements coincides with a radial direction of the tank; a plurality of inner members each holding an end portion of a corresponding one of the cylindrical elements at the inner shell side; and a plurality of outer members each holding an end portion of a corresponding one of the cylindrical elements at the outer shell side. Each of the cylindrical elements is made of glass fiber reinforced plastic.
Abstract:
A sealed insulating tank in which the secondary insulating barrier, the secondary sealing membrane, and the primary insulating barrier essentially consist of a set of prefabricated panels juxtaposed on the supporting structure. Sealing strips are arranged so that they overlap the adjoining edge zones of the leaktight linings of the prefabricated panels in order to complete the secondary sealing membrane between the prefabricated panels. Insulating blocks arranged on the sealing strips have a layer of thermal insulation covered by a rigid board and a reinforcing mat having a stiffness under tension which is greater than or equal to the stiffness under tension of the sealing strips and is glued to the layer of thermal insulation on a face of the layer of thermal insulation opposite the rigid board, the insulating block being each time fixed to the prefabricated panels by gluing the reinforcing mat to the underlying sealing strip.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a marine vessel cryogenic barrier which is formed of a plurality of individual panels, each panel being arranged to align with an adjacent panel on an inner surface of a hold space of a marine vessel and comprising a single coupling means at the centre of the panel and an impervious layer on a surface of the barrier facing the hold space.

An underwater carbon dioxide storage facility including a carbon dioxide deposit stored underwater as a clathrate includes a flexible barrier disposed at least partially over the carbon dioxide deposit. The carbon dioxide deposit may be stored in or at the bottom of a body of water.
Abstract:
A liquefied gas tank installed in a surrounding structural body includes: a tank main body in which a liquefied gas is storable, the tank main body including a plurality of planar portions and corner portions between the planar portions, the corner portions having less rigidity than that of the planar portions; a bottom supporting body that supports the tank main body from below the tank main body; and a plurality of side supporting bodies that support the tank main body from side of the tank main body. The tank main body is configured to stand by itself by being supported by the bottom supporting body when the tank main body stores no cargo, and be supported by the bottom supporting body and the side supporting bodies when the liquefied gas is stored in the tank main body.
Abstract:
A method for storing a pressurized liquid or gas features a portable storage tank arranged to contain liquids or gases under pressure therein. The tank has a tank body with openings at or adjacent the top and bottom of the tank body for filling the liquid or gas therein and discharging the liquid or gas therefrom. Also, the tank has a support assembly for resting on a support surface that is arranged to hold the tank body raised above the ground. The support assembly includes a plurality of legs extending downwardly from the tank body and a base arranged for resting on the ground to support the tank standing upwardly from the ground. The method further comprises loading the tank in a substantially horizontal position onto a trailer for transporting the tank; erecting the tank; and filling the pressurized liquid or gas into the tank.

An underwater carbon dioxide storage facility including a carbon dioxide deposit stored underwater as a clathrate includes a flexible barrier disposed at least partially over the carbon dioxide deposit. The carbon dioxide deposit may be stored in or at the bottom of a body of water.
Abstract:
Provided are an LNG storage container with an inner shell, which is capable of efficiently storing LNG or pressurized LNG (PLNG) pressurized at a predetermined pressure and supplying the LNG or PLNG to a consumption place, and capable of reducing manufacturing costs by minimizing the use of a metal having excellent low temperature characteristic, and a method for manufacturing the same. The LNG storage container includes: an inner shell configured to store LNG inside; an outer shell configured to enclose the outside of the inner shell such that a space is formed between the inner shell and the outer shell; a support installed in the space between the inner shell and the outer shell to support the inner shell and the outer shell; and a heat insulation layer part installed in the space between the inner shell and the outer shell and configured to reduce a heat transfer.
Abstract:
In a BOG treatment system, boil-off gas (BOG) discharged from a storage tank is compressed, most of the BOG is used as the fuel of vessel engines, and a remaining part of the BOG is liquefied by cold energy of BOG newly discharged from the storage tank and is returned to the storage tank, thereby efficiently utilizing the BOG. The BOG treatment system for a vessel includes a compressor compressing the BOG discharged from the storage tank; a medium pressure gas engine receiving at least a part of the BOG compressed by the compressor, as fuel; a heat exchanger exchanging heat between the remaining part of the BOG, which is not supplied to the medium pressure gas engine as fuel, and the BOG, which is discharged from the storage tank and is not compressed; and an expander decompressing the remaining part of the BOG cooled by the heat exchanger.
Abstract:
A sealed and insulating tank, notably for liquefied natural gas, includes, a supporting wall with anchor members disposed in a repeated pattern, a sealing barrier in contact with a product contained in the tank and a thermal insulation barrier disposed between the sealing barrier and the supporting wall, the thermal insulation barrier including a plurality of insulating panels disposed in the repeated pattern, each insulating panel being fixed to the supporting wall by an adhesive disposed on a lower surface of the insulating panel and one or more anchor members of the supporting wall each cooperating with a hole passing through the insulating panel. The number of anchor members per insulating panel is in the range 1 to 6, preferably 2 to 3. A method of fixing insulating panels employs a clamping tool.
