Abstract:
A personal items network, comprising a plurality of items, each item having a wireless communications port for coupling in network with every other item, each item having a processor for determining if any other item in the network is no longer linked to the item, each item having an indicator for informing a user that an item has left the network, wherein a user may locate lost items. A method for locating lost personal items, comprising: linking at least two personal items together on a network; and depositing one or both of time and location information in an unlost item when one of the items is lost out of network.
Abstract:
Method, apparatus, and computer program product example embodiments provide short-range communication based direction finding. According to an example embodiment of the invention, a method comprises transmitting by a target device, information in one or more advertising packets, including preferences of the target device for using data signing associated with direction finding; and receiving by the target device from a tracker device, one or more direction finding request packets including a request for data signing corresponding with the target device preferences.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for determining position of a receiver. The positioning system comprises a transmitter network including transmitters that broadcast positioning signals. The positioning system comprises a remote receiver that acquires and tracks the positioning signals and/or satellite signals. The satellite signals are signals of a satellite-based positioning system. A first mode of the remote receiver uses terminal-based positioning in which the remote receiver computes a position using the positioning signals and/or the satellite signals. The positioning system comprises a server coupled to the remote receiver. A second operating mode of the remote receiver comprises network-based positioning in which the server computes a position of the remote receiver from the positioning signals and/or satellite signals, where the remote receiver receives and transfers to the server the positioning signals and/or satellite signals.

Abstract:
A search system for searching buried persons is provided including a radio device with a receiving device including at least one receiving antenna and adapted to receive the field of a transmitter antenna, wherein the radio device is adapted to determine the direction of the field vector of the transmitter antenna relative to the at least one receiving antenna; as well as a user interface device with at least one interface for interfacing with the radio device, as well as at least one output device for outputting search information derived from the direction of the determined field vector and perceivable by a user; wherein the radio device and the user interface device are each formed as separate units, which are each encompassed by an own housing, and wherein the search system includes determining means for determining the relative orientation of the user interface device to the radio device. Moreover, it relates to a corresponding method for searching a buried person.
Abstract:
A wireless interface disposed in a vehicle monitors a network for signals transmitted by cellular towers. The signals include a first system identification signal transmitted from a first cellular tower. A computer processing device is communicatively coupled to the wireless interface and includes logic configured to receive the first system identification signal in response to the monitoring. The first system identification signal corresponds to a first system identification. The logic is also configured to retrieve a table of system identifications including the first system identification from a storage device. Each of the system identifications is mapped to a corresponding geographic location in which each of the cellular towers is disposed and a corresponding measurement system utilized in the geographic location. The logic is also configured to identify the measurement system from which the first system identification is mapped, and display indicators of the measurement system within an instrument panel.
Abstract:
According to the invention, the system comprises: at least three position beacons (3) arranged about said location (2) and emitting in the long-wave range, and an apparatus associated with the user (1) and including means for receiving, processing and displaying the information transmitted by said beacons (3).
