    摘要: A device and method thereof for the indoor-air purification that utilizes photocatalytic oxidation and ultraviolet lights in a fluidized bed to remove pollutants. The fluidized bed contains ultraviolet lights that are immersed within the bed for direct access to ultraviolet-irradiation. Fluidization aids such as vibration and static mixers may be employed to allow for better circulation of the catalyst bed to increase reaction rates. Photocatalytic oxidation within the device uses photocatalyst particles that were designed to be more active, fluidize better and have ten-fold higher attrition-resistant qualities than current industry standards. The device provides for the most efficient use of and longevity of ultraviolet light which reduces operating costs.

    摘要: An apparatus includes a housing into which a hazardous gas is introduced. A sleeve in the housing includes a perforate segment into which the gas is discharged along with flows of oxygen delivered from sleeve mounted nozzles. Particles forming in a sleeve defined mixing zone gravitate toward a first collection site within the housing. Within the housing are radially spaced tubular members through which the gas and oxygen mixture flows in a serpentine path with provision for the collection of particles precipitating from the flow adjacent one end of the housing. Metallic fibers render any gas collection in the housing inert. Provision is made for delivering, in the alternative, a pressurized air flow to the sleeve for oxidizing the hazardous gas flow utilizing ambient air. A diffuser plate imparts current to the ambient air discharged into the sleeve.

    摘要: A method for treating cullet before use as a raw material in a glass manufacturing process is disclosed. The method includes providing a bed of cullet; passing hot gases through the bed, the quantity and temperature of gases being sufficient to pyrolyze odor creating impurities within the bed of cullet; entraining volatile products of pyrolysis into gases leaving the moving bed; heating the gases leaving the bed to oxidize odor creating impurities; and discharging the gases to the atmosphere. The apparatus includes a housing containing a moving bed of cullet; a source of hot gases which permits the gases to pass through the moving bed of cullet to pyrolyze odor creating impurities within the cullet and entrain volatile products of pyrolysis into gases leaving the moving bed; and an incinerator to remove odor creating impurities from gases leaving the moving bed.
