    摘要: A material for forming a conductive structure for a MEMS device is described, which is an alloy containing about 0.01% manganese and the remainder nickel. Data shows that the alloy possesses advantageous mechanical and electrical properties. In particular, the sheet resistance of the alloy is actually lower than the sheet resistance of the pure metal. In addition, the alloy may have superior creep and higher recrystallization temperature than the pure metal. It is hypothesized that these advantageous material properties are a result of the larger grain structure existing in the NiMn alloy film compared to the pure nickel metal film. These properties may make the alloy appropriate for applications such as MEMS thermal electrical switches for telecommunications applications.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for first drilling a hole in a workpiece by utilizing a locating jig, and then inspecting the hole to insure it is drilled to the proper diameter. There is an inspection device having an inspection probe that is pivotally mounted about a universal mounting device so that the lower inspection end of the probe is able to deflect laterally to fit in the drilled hole so as to be centered therein. This arrangement compensates for any misalignment in the positioning of the inspection apparatus relative to the earlier alignment of the drilling apparatus.

    摘要: Improvements in hole angularity gauges. Known gauges require a plug to fit precisely into the hole, or have limited accuracy and/or require multiple readings. The gauge (10) of the invention provides a tapered plug (16) that will fit snugly into holes having diameters varying from a standard within reasonable tolerances. An indicator member (42) is slidably and pivotably attached to a slider member (56) carried by member (12, 14) of which plug (16) is a part. Spring (80) biases member (42) into contact with an object (2) around the hole being tested when plug (16) is wedged into such hole. Member (42) has two spaced legs (46) having rounded bottom ends (48) that contact object (2), and an indicator arm (52) which extends up through a sleeve portion (14) of member (12, 14). When the head (54) of arm (52) protrudes from a radial slot (36) in sleeve (14), the hole being tested deviates from normal to the surface of the object (2) by more than the permissible amount.

    摘要: The specification describes a combination bag and scoop used for cleaning up waste material when walking one's pet. The bag includes a closed bottom portion for holding waste material and an upper portion having an open mouth for insertion of waste material into the bag and closing means for closing the bottom portion of the bag after placing waste material therein. The bottom portion is constructed of a flexible, impermeable material such as high density polyethylene. The upper portion which is also preferably constructed of a high density polyethylene includes two relatively flat parallel sidewalls adjacent to one another. Each of the sidewalls is provided with a finger insert at one end thereof with both of the inserts located at the same end of the upper portion. The upper portion is rigid to the extent that upon insertion of a finger and a thumb or a pair of fingers in the inserts, the mouth can be spread open by bowing the sidewalls. However, the upper portion is also resilient to the extent that upon withdrawal of a finger and a thumb from the inserts, the sidewalls resume their flat parallel relationship. The scoop includes a handle and a scooping portion for scooping waste material into the bag when the mouth is spread open. The scoop is placed in the bag after use and the bottom portion is then closed by the closing means to substantially eliminate spillage and odors.

    摘要: A heater for a liquid has a combustion chamber, a jacket for the liquid extending about the combustion chamber and a burner head assembly connected to the combustion chamber. The burner head assembly includes a housing having a burner mounted thereon and a hollow interior. A control module and a fan are mounted in the hollow interior, the fan being connected to an electric motor. A compressor and a fuel pump are mounted on the housing and are operatively connected to the electric motor. The control module may include controls for exercising components of the heater prior to combustion, thereby verifying operation of these components. Preferably there is a speed control for the motor, such as a closed loop speed control which regulates motor speed and accordingly output of the heater. Preferably there is a backup system using a lookup table in the event that the closed loop speed control fails. Also preferably there is provision for monitoring flame sensor functionality by providing an indicator light which mirrors operation of the flame sensor. The heater may have a selective soft start for the coolant pump which operates only when required so as to reduce unnecessary chatter on the motor relay. A system is also provided for distinguishing true overcurrent faults from overcurrents arising from voltage changes during starting of the vehicle engine. Reignition algorithms are provided to restart the burner in the event of flame sputters caused, for example, by fuel bubbles, but shut off the heater in the event that the fuel is truly cut off.
