摘要: In a variable valve gear for an internal combustion engine provided with a camshaft phase change mechanism for variably controlling opening and closing timings of an intake valve, the camshaft phase change mechanism and a variable valve lift mechanism are controlled so that the closing timing of the intake valve is advanced beyond a predetermined range T1 including a bottom dead center when a load L of the internal combustion engine is less than a first predetermined value L1 and that the closing timing of the intake valve is delayed beyond the predetermined range T1 when the load L of the internal combustion engine is not less than the first predetermined value L1.

摘要: A biomass thermochemical gasification apparatus is provided that can manufacture high-quality fuel gas out of solid biomass in an industrial manner. This fuel gas can be used as fuel for a gas engine and a gas turbine for example and also can be used as synthesis gas for methanol synthesis.A high-temperature combustion gas generation apparatus (101) for biomass operates entirely by biomass and the heat source thereof does not depend on fossil fuel. A coarsely-ground powder biomass (205) subjected to gasification and gasification agent (303) are introduced to a primary gasification reaction room (202) and generate gasification reaction by, as reaction heat, radiation heat from a wall face of the primary gasification reaction room (202) heated by combustion gas (109a) generated in the high-temperature combustion gas generation apparatus (101) and are dissolved. Consequently, the biomass (205) is converted to clean and high-quality generated gas.

摘要: An intake system construction for an internal combustion engine includes a combustion chamber formed with upper and lower extremities thereof defined by a lower wall of a cylinder head and a top wall of a piston, an intake open end formed in the lower wall in opposition to the combustion chamber on one side of a reference plane which contains a central axis of the cylinder, an intake port formed in communication with the combustion chamber via the intake open end and extending upwardly from the intake open end so that a vertical swirl of inducted air is formed in the combustion chamber, an intake valve having a head portion for opening or closing the intake open end and a stem portion extending from the head portion to an upstream side of the intake port through the cylinder head, and a straightening member arranged in the intake port on a downstream side of the stem portion so that an inducted air flow is straightened on the downstream side of the stem portion.

摘要: An intake system construction according to the present invention for an internal combustion engine is provided with a combustion chamber formed with upper and lower extremities thereof defined by a cylinder head and a piston, an intake open end arranged for being opened or closed by an intake valve, an exhaust open end arranged for being opened or closed by an exhaust valve, an intake port formed extending upwardly from the intake open end so that a vertical swirl of inducted air is formed in the combustion chamber, and an exhaust port for discharging combustion gas from the combustion chamber. The intake port is formed wider in one of halves thereof located adjacent a reference plane, which contains a central axis of a cylinder, than in the other half thereof located remote from the reference plane. The intake port is provided at a lower extremity thereof in the one half thereof with a raised portion for guiding an inducted air flow in the intake port toward an inner peripheral surface of a side wall of the cylinder.

摘要: A fuel feeding system is provided for an internal combustion engine to permit appropriate feeding of fuel in accordance with the state of operation of the engine. A fuel line is arranged as a recirculation circuit between a fuel injector and a fuel tank. A low-pressure fuel pump is arranged in an upstream part of the fuel line. A high-pressure fuel pump is arranged between the fuel pump and the injector. A high-pressure regulator is arranged in a fuel line portion on a downstream side of the regulator to control the pressure of fuel delivered from the pump. A bypass line connects another fuel line portion on an upstream side of the regulator and the fuel line portion each other. A switching valve is arranged in the bypass line to open or close the same. A low-pressure regulator controls the pressure of fuel in the fuel line portion at a pressure lower than a control pressure set by the regulator while the switching valve is open. ECU is arranged to perform open/close control of the switching valve so that the switching valve is closed in an ordinary operation state of the engine but is opened in a specific operation state of the engine.

摘要: A stratified burning internal combustion engine according to this invention is equipped with an intake port and a fuel feed device so that stratified tumble flows of different fuel concentrations can be formed in a combustion chamber. An ignition device is provided in the combustion chamber to ignite at least one of the tumble flows, said at least one tumble flow being rich in fuel. To promote the stratified tumble flows, a top wall of a piston has an inclined wall. This makes it possible to strengthen the tumble flows, whereby the stratification of an air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber can be improved further to permit lean burn at a larger air/fuel ratio.
